Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of your K&F Concept 32" Horizontal Tripod Extension Arm. This aluminum alloy 2-section detachable center column is designed for overhead, macro, and low-angle photography, offering 360° horizontal rotation and 180° vertical tilt. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure proper setup and operation.

Setup and Assembly

1. Attach the Panoramic Base: Secure the 360° panoramic base to your tripod's center column using its 3/8" threaded hole. Ensure it is tightened firmly.
2. Insert the Horizontal Column: Slide the main horizontal column into the panoramic base. The D-shaped tube design helps prevent rotation.
3. Secure the Column: Use the ergonomic rubberized knob on the panoramic base to lock the horizontal column in place.
4. Extend the Arm (Optional): If additional length is required, remove the plastic cap from the end of the main horizontal column to reveal the 3/8" thread. Screw the detachable extender rod onto this thread. Ensure the flat sides of both sections align for a secure fit.

5. Mount Your Camera/Ball Head: The top of the horizontal column features a 3/8" screw. Attach your camera directly or a ball head/fluid head. If your equipment requires a 1/4" screw, use the included 1/4"-3/8" screw adapter.

6. Counterweight (Crucial for Stability): When the extension arm is extended beyond 15.7 inches (40 cm) or used with heavier equipment, it is essential to attach counterweights. Use the included anti-slip hook to hang a counterweight (e.g., a bag of sand, water bottle) on the tripod's center column or the rear of the extension arm to prevent tipping and ensure stability.

Operating Instructions

The K&F Concept Horizontal Tripod Extension Arm offers flexible positioning for various photographic needs.

• Horizontal Rotation (360°): Loosen the knob on the panoramic base to rotate the entire horizontal arm 360 degrees. This allows for panoramic shots or precise positioning without moving the tripod. Tighten the knob firmly once the desired angle is achieved.
• Vertical Tilt (180°): The arm can be tilted 180 degrees (90 degrees up and 90 degrees down) relative to the horizontal plane. Loosen the tilt adjustment knob on the panoramic base, adjust the angle, and then re-tighten the knob securely. Note that loosening this knob may also allow for slight rotation if not held steady.
• Extension Length Adjustment: To adjust the length of the horizontal arm, loosen the locking knob on the main column, slide the inner tube to the desired length, and then re-tighten the knob. The built-in length scales assist in precise adjustments and replication.
• Stable Shooting: Always ensure all knobs are securely tightened before leaving your camera unattended. For optimal stability, especially with heavier cameras or when the arm is fully extended, utilize the anti-slip hook with a counterweight.
