3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the radio's internal 12000 mAh battery using the USB-C cable. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the radio's USB-C input port and the other end to a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port. The charging indicator light will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged.

3.2 Antenna Extension

For optimal radio reception, extend the telescopic antenna fully when listening to FM, SW, or VHF bands. For AM reception, the internal antenna is typically sufficient, but adjusting the radio's orientation may improve signal quality.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

Press and hold the POWER button to turn the radio on or off. The display will light up, indicating the current mode and frequency.

4.2 Radio Tuning

  1. Select Band: Press the BAND button repeatedly to cycle through FM, AM, SW, and VHF bands.
  2. Tune Station: Use the TUNING DIAL or UP/DOWN buttons to manually scan for stations. Some models may feature an auto-scan function; refer to the on-screen prompts.
  3. Adjust Volume: Rotate the VOLUME knob to increase or decrease the sound level.

4.3 Charging the Radio

The radio offers four methods for recharging its internal battery:

  • USB-C Charging: Connect the USB-C cable to the radio's input port and a power source. This is the fastest charging method.
  • Solar Charging: Place the radio with its solar panel facing direct sunlight. The solar charging indicator will light up. This method is ideal for maintaining charge or slow charging in emergencies.
  • Hand Crank Charging: Unfold the hand crank handle and rotate it clockwise or counter-clockwise at a steady pace (approximately 130-150 RPM). Cranking for 1 minute can provide several minutes of radio use or flashlight power.
  • Internal Battery: The radio operates directly from its integrated 12000 mAh battery when charged.

4.4 Charging External Devices

The radio can act as a power bank for your smartphone or other USB-powered devices.

  1. Connect your device's USB charging cable to the radio's USB-A output port.
  2. The radio will automatically begin charging your device.

  • Reading Lamp: Activate the separate USB reading lamp by pressing its dedicated button (if available) or by connecting it to the USB output port if it's an external accessory.
  • SOS Alarm and Light: Press and hold the SOS button to activate the loud 120 dB siren and flashing SOS light. Press again to deactivate.

4.6 Compass

The integrated compass is located on the device. Hold the radio level and away from metallic objects to ensure accurate readings. The compass needle will point North.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the radio with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: Store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, ensure the battery is charged to about 50-70% and recharge every 3-6 months to prolong battery life.
  • Battery Care: Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. For optimal performance, use and recharge the battery regularly.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the battery is charged. Try charging via USB-C or hand crank.
  • Poor Radio Reception: Extend the telescopic antenna fully. Try repositioning the radio or rotating it for better signal. Check if you are in an area with known poor reception.
  • External Device Not Charging: Ensure the radio's battery has sufficient charge. Check the USB cable connection and try a different cable or device.
  • Flashlight Not Working: Check battery level. If the battery is very low, the light functions may be restricted.
