3.2 Powering On/Off

Press the TEST button to power on the device and initiate a measurement. The device will automatically power off after approximately 10 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery life.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Taking a Measurement

To measure the surface temperature of an object:

  1. Point the pyrometer at the target object.
  2. Press and hold the TEST button. The dual lasers will activate, indicating the measurement area.
  3. The temperature reading will be displayed on the LCD screen. Release the TEST button to hold the reading.

4.2 Understanding Distance-to-Spot Ratio (D:S)

The AI-1600APP has a D:S ratio of 30:1. This means that at a distance of 30 units from the target, the measurement spot diameter will be 1 unit. For example, if you are 30 inches away, the measurement spot will be 1 inch in diameter. Maintain an appropriate distance to ensure accurate readings of the desired area.

4.3 Adjusting Emissivity
