4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Initial Cleaning

  1. Carefully remove the bread maker and all accessories from the packaging.
  2. Wash the bread pan, kneading paddles, measuring cup, and measuring spoon with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  3. Wipe the exterior of the bread maker with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  4. Before first use, it is recommended to run a 10-minute bake cycle empty to eliminate any manufacturing odors.

4.2 Component Assembly

  1. Place the bread maker on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface, ensuring adequate ventilation around the unit.
  2. Insert the kneading paddle(s) onto the shaft(s) at the bottom of the bread pan.
  3. Place the bread pan into the baking chamber, pressing down firmly until it clicks into place.
  4. If using, attach the automatic nut dispenser to its designated slot on the lid.
  5. Close the lid securely.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Operation Steps

  1. Add Ingredients: Follow your recipe and add ingredients to the bread pan in the specified order (typically liquids first, then dry ingredients, with yeast last). Ensure the kneading paddle is in place.
  2. Select Menu: Plug in the bread maker. The display will light up. Use the touchscreen to navigate through the 20 automatic programs or select one of the 2 custom programs.
  3. Adjust Settings (Optional):
    • Loaf Size: Press the 'Weight' button (often indicated by 'LB' icon) to cycle through 1.0LB, 1.5LB, or 2.2LB options.
    • Crust Color: Press the 'Color' button (often indicated by a bread icon) to select Light, Medium, or Dark crust.
    • Delay Timer: To delay the start of the baking process, press the 'Time+' or 'Time-' buttons to set the desired delay time. The total time displayed includes the delay time and the program's baking time.
  4. Start Baking: Press the 'Start/Pause' button to begin the selected program. The machine will automatically perform kneading, rising, and baking cycles.
  5. Automatic Nut Dispenser: If your recipe includes nuts or fruits, add them to the automatic nut dispenser before starting the program. The dispenser will release them into the dough at the appropriate time.
  6. End of Cycle: Once the program is complete, the bread maker will beep and automatically switch to a 60-minute 'Keep Warm' mode.
  7. Remove Bread: Unplug the appliance. Using oven mitts, carefully remove the bread pan from the machine. Invert the pan to release the bread onto a cooling rack. Use the provided hook to remove the kneading paddle if it remains in the bread.

5.2 Custom Programs

The MBF-012 offers two custom programs, allowing you to define specific cycle times and temperatures for kneading, rising, and baking. Your custom settings are saved for future one-press use.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

6.1 Cleaning the Bread Pan and Kneading Paddles

  • The ceramic bread pan and kneading paddles are dishwasher safe.
  • Alternatively, wash them with warm, soapy water using a soft sponge. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that could damage the non-stick coating.
  • If a kneading paddle is stuck in the bread, soak the pan in warm water for about 15-20 minutes to loosen it before removal.
  • Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling or storing.
