3. Installation

The ZAFRO Portable Air Conditioner is designed for quick and easy installation. The included window kit is suitable for double/single hung windows and sliding windows with sizes ranging from 20.67 inches to 69.29 inches.

Installation Steps:

1. Prepare the Window: Open the window where you intend to install the unit.
2. Assemble the Window Sealing Kit: Adjust the window panel pieces (A, B, C, D) to fit your window opening. Secure them together.
3. Install the Window Kit: Place the assembled window sealing kit into the window opening and close the window to secure it. Ensure a tight seal to prevent air leakage.
4. Connect the Exhaust Hose: Attach one end of the exhaust hose to the air outlet on the back of the air conditioner.
5. Connect to Window Kit: Attach the other end of the exhaust hose to the adapter on the window sealing kit. Ensure both connections are secure.
6. Position the Unit: Place the air conditioner on a flat surface near the window, ensuring the exhaust hose is not kinked or bent sharply.

4. Operating Instructions

Your ZAFRO Portable Air Conditioner offers multiple control options for convenience: the integrated LED display panel, a remote control, and a smartphone application.

4.1 Control Panel

The top-mounted LED display panel provides direct access to all functions.

• On/Off Button: Powers the unit on or off.
• Mode Button: Cycles through Cooling, Fan, Dehumidifier, and Sleep modes.
• Fan Speed Button: Adjusts fan speed (Low, Medium, High, Auto).
• Timer Button: Sets the auto-on or auto-off timer (0.5-24 hours).
• Sleep Button: Activates sleep mode for quieter operation and energy saving.
• Swing Button: Controls the oscillation of the air vents.
• Temperature Adjustment (+/-): Adjusts the desired temperature (61°F to 86°F). Hold '-' and '+' for 3 seconds to change temperature unit (°F/°C).
• Wi-Fi Reset: Hold the 'M' button for 3 seconds to reset Wi-Fi.
• Child Lock: Hold the 'Fan Speed' and 'Mode' buttons for 3 seconds to activate/deactivate.

4.2 Remote Control

The included remote control allows convenient operation from a distance.

All functions available on the control panel are also accessible via the remote control. Point the remote control directly at the unit's receiver when operating.

4.3 APP Control (Wi-Fi)

Download the ZAFRO app from your smartphone's app store to control your air conditioner remotely via Wi-Fi. Follow the in-app instructions for pairing the device.

The app allows you to:

• Turn the unit on/off.
• Select operating modes.
• Adjust temperature and fan speed.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your air conditioner.

5.1 Cleaning the Air Filter

The air filter should be cleaned every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.

1. Power Off: Unplug the air conditioner from the power outlet.
2. Remove Filter: Locate the air filter panel (usually at the back or side) and carefully remove the filter.
3. Clean Filter: Wash the filter with warm water (below 40°C / 104°F) and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
4. Dry Filter: Allow the filter to air dry completely before re-installing. Do not expose to direct sunlight.
5. Re-install Filter: Place the dry filter back into the unit and close the panel.

5.2 Drainage

The unit features a self-evaporating system that typically eliminates the need for manual drainage during cooling operation in low humidity conditions. However, drainage may be required under specific circumstances:

• High Humidity: In environments with high humidity, the unit may accumulate more condensate than can be evaporated.
• Dehumidifier Mode: When operating in Dehumidifier mode, continuous drainage is necessary.
• Long-term Cooling: For extended cooling periods, manual drainage might be needed.

To drain the unit:

1. Power Off: Unplug the air conditioner.
2. Position: Place a shallow pan or container under the drainage outlet at the bottom rear of the unit.
3. Remove Cap: Unscrew the drainage cap and remove the rubber stopper.
4. Drain Water: Allow the accumulated water to drain completely.
5. Secure: Once drained, replace the rubber stopper and screw the cap back on tightly.
