4. Setup and Charging

5.3 Welding Process

Follow these steps for effective plastic repair:

1. Select Staple: Choose the appropriate staple type for the crack.
2. Load Staple: Ensure the welder is cool. Insert the chosen staple into the two parallel posts of the welding tip.
3. Preheat: Position the staple over the crack. Press and hold the heating trigger for approximately 3 seconds to preheat the staple.
4. Weld: Gently press the heated staple into the plastic across the crack until it is embedded about one-third of the way through the plastic's thickness.
5. Release: Twist and pull the tool to release the staple from the welding tip. Allow the staple to cool and solidify within the plastic.
6. Trim: Use the cutting pliers to trim off any protruding ends of the staple.
7. Grind: Use the file to smooth the welded area for a cleaner finish.
