Important Safeguards

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, always follow these basic safety precautions:

  • Read all instructions before using the appliance.

Setup and First Use

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the kettle and all accessories from the packaging.
  2. Clean: Before first use, fill the kettle with water to the MAX line and boil. Discard the water. Repeat this process 2-3 times to remove any manufacturing residue.
  3. Position: Place the power base on a dry, flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure the cord is not dangling or touching hot surfaces.
  4. Lid: Ensure the ProntoFill detachable lid is securely in place.

Operating Instructions

Boiling Water

  1. Fill: Open the ProntoFill lid and fill the kettle with the desired amount of water. Do not fill below the MIN (0.25L) line or above the MAX (1.8L) line.
  2. Place: Place the kettle securely onto the power base.
  3. Power On: Plug the power base into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet. The digital display on the handle will illuminate.
  4. Select Temperature: Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the handle to cycle through the 7 preset temperature options: 100°F, 155°F, 175°F, 185°F, 195°F, 205°F, 212°F.
  5. Start Boiling: Press the power button (circle with vertical line) to begin heating. The LED lighting system at the base of the kettle will illuminate and change color according to the water temperature.
  6. Automatic Shut-Off: The kettle will automatically shut off once the selected temperature is reached.

LED Color Indicator

The LED lighting system provides a visual indication of the water temperature:

  • White/Blue: 0–100°F
  • Green: 101–155°F
  • Light Blue: 156–175°F
  • Blue: 176–185°F
  • Purple: 186–195°F
  • Yellow: 196–205°F
  • Red: 206–212°F

Keep Warm Function

After selecting your desired temperature and starting the heating process, press the "Keep Warm" button. The kettle will maintain the selected temperature for:

  • Up to 2 hours for temperatures between 155°F and 212°F.
  • Up to 5 hours for 100°F.

To deactivate the Keep Warm function, press the power button again.

Using the Tea Infuser

  1. Insert Infuser: Ensure the tea infuser is properly seated inside the kettle.
  2. Add Tea: Open the infuser lid and add your desired amount of loose-leaf tea. Close the infuser lid securely.
  3. Fill & Heat: Fill the kettle with water and select your desired temperature as per the "Boiling Water" instructions.
  4. Steep: Allow the tea to steep for the recommended time.
  5. Remove Infuser: Carefully remove the infuser using its handle after steeping to prevent over-extraction.

Boil-Dry Protection

The kettle is equipped with boil-dry protection. If the kettle is accidentally switched on without water or with insufficient water, it will automatically shut off to prevent damage. Allow the kettle to cool down before refilling with water.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your kettle.

  1. Disconnect: Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the kettle and the power base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  3. Interior: The kettle is designed for hand washing only. Do not immerse the kettle body or power base in water.
  4. Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. To descale:
    • Fill the kettle with 2 cups of white vinegar and 2 cups of water.
    • Bring the mixture to a boil and let it stand for 30 minutes.
    • Discard the mixture and rinse the kettle thoroughly with fresh water several times.
    • For stubborn deposits, repeat the process or use a commercial descaling solution following its instructions.
  5. Tea Infuser & Filter: The removable tea infuser and filter can be rinsed under running water. For thorough cleaning, use a small brush to remove any tea leaves or debris.
