Jesverty SPS-1560HP RS485 Programable DC Power Supply User Manual

Model: SPS-1560HP

Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your Jesverty SPS-1560HP RS485 Programable DC Power Supply. This device is a variable, regulated bench power supply designed for various applications requiring precise voltage and current control. Please read this manual thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.

Safety Information

Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the device:

  • Ensure the power supply is connected to a grounded outlet.
  • Do not operate the device in wet or damp conditions.
  • Avoid short-circuiting the output terminals.
  • Do not open the casing; there are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Verify correct voltage and current settings before connecting a load.
  • Disconnect power before making or changing connections.

Product Features

  • Encoder Adjustment Knob: Provides precise setting of voltage and current with 0.01V/0.01A resolution, replacing traditional coarse and fine adjustment potentiometers.
  • Output ON/OFF Switch: Allows for easy control of power output without disconnecting the load or adjusting settings.
  • 4-Digit LED Display: High-precision display for clear readings of voltage and current.
  • Over-Voltage Protection (OVP): Automatically shuts off output if voltage exceeds a set limit.
  • Over-Current Protection (OCP): Automatically shuts off output if current exceeds a set limit.
  • Temperature-Regulated Cooling Fan: Ensures optimal operating temperature and extends device lifespan.
  • Compact Design: Measures approximately 13.2(D)x8.4(W)x6.5(H) inches and weighs 6.6 lbs, saving workbench space.
  • Auxiliary Output Terminal: Provides an additional output option.
  • RS485 Programable: Supports remote control and automation via RS485 interface.

Package Contents

Upon unpacking, please verify that all items listed below are present and undamaged:

  • 1 x Jesverty SPS-1560HP DC Power Supply Unit
  • 1 x Power Cord (AC input settings may vary by region)
  • 1 x Instruction Manual (this document)

Setup Instructions

  1. Placement: Place the power supply on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation. Ensure no obstructions block the cooling fan vents.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the provided power cord to the AC input socket on the rear panel of the power supply and then to a grounded AC power outlet.
  3. Initial Power On: Flip the main power switch on the front panel to the "ON" position. The LED display should illuminate.
  4. Output Terminal Connection: Connect your load to the main output terminals (red for positive, black for negative) or the auxiliary output terminal on the front panel. Ensure connections are secure before applying power.

Operating Instructions

Setting Voltage and Current

  1. Power On: Ensure the power supply is turned on and the output is OFF (press the Output ON/OFF button if necessary).
  2. Adjusting Voltage: Rotate the Voltage encoder knob to set the desired output voltage. Press the knob to switch between adjusting different digits (e.g., tens, units, tenths, hundredths).
  3. Adjusting Current: Rotate the Current encoder knob to set the desired output current limit. Press the knob to switch between adjusting different digits.
  4. Activating Output: Once voltage and current limits are set, press the Output ON/OFF button to enable the power output. The display will show the actual output voltage and current.
  5. Disabling Output: To disable the output, press the Output ON/OFF button again.

Over-Voltage Protection (OVP) and Over-Current Protection (OCP)

The power supply includes OVP and OCP features to protect connected devices. These can be set to specific thresholds. If the output voltage or current exceeds the set limit, the power supply will automatically cut off the output and trigger an alarm (if enabled).

  • To adjust OVP/OCP limits, refer to the detailed programming instructions for the RS485 interface or specific front panel controls if available.
  • In case of an OVP/OCP event, identify and resolve the cause (e.g., faulty load, incorrect settings) before resetting the power supply and resuming operation.

RS485 Programable Functionality

The SPS-1560HP model supports RS485 communication for remote control and automation. This allows for integration into larger test systems or custom applications. Detailed protocols and commands for RS485 programming are typically provided in a separate programming guide or technical documentation. Consult the manufacturer's website or support for specific RS485 interface instructions.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the power supply from the AC outlet before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ventilation: Regularly check that the cooling fan vents are free from dust and debris to ensure proper airflow. Use compressed air to gently clear any blockages.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the power supply in a cool, dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting
