Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install your VEVOR S6 Dash Cam:

  1. Prepare the Windshield: Clean the area on your windshield where you intend to mount the dash cam. Ensure it is free from dust and grease for optimal adhesion.
  2. Apply Electrostatic Sticker: Apply one of the provided electrostatic stickers to the cleaned area of the windshield. This helps in easy removal and repositioning of the mount without leaving residue.
  3. Mount the Dash Cam: Attach the dash cam's 3M adhesive mount firmly onto the electrostatic sticker. Ensure the camera has a clear view of the road ahead and does not obstruct your driving vision.
  4. Insert MicroSD Card: Insert a Class 10 or higher microSD card (not included) into the designated slot on the dash cam. Ensure it is inserted correctly until it clicks into place.
  5. Connect Power: Connect the cigarette lighter power cable to the dash cam and then plug it into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket. Route the cable neatly along the windshield and dashboard using the provided trim tool to tuck it under panels.
  6. Install Rear Camera: Connect the rear camera cable to the main dash cam unit. Mount the rear camera on your vehicle's rear window, ensuring a clear view. Route the cable neatly from the main unit to the rear camera.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle's ignition is turned on (and power is supplied to the cigarette lighter socket). It will power off automatically when the ignition is turned off.

Basic Controls and Screen

The dash cam features a 3-inch HD screen and physical buttons for navigation. Use the buttons to access menus, play back footage, adjust settings, and manage files directly on the device.

Dual-Channel Recording

The VEVOR S6 records simultaneously from both the front and rear cameras. The front camera captures video in 4K UHD resolution with a 123° viewing angle, while the rear camera records in 1080P HD with a 125° viewing angle. This provides comprehensive coverage of the road.

Loop Recording

The dash cam supports continuous loop recording. When the memory card is full, the system automatically overwrites the oldest unlocked video files to ensure uninterrupted recording. This feature requires a microSD card (not included).

Collision Detection (G-Sensor)

The built-in G-Sensor detects sudden impacts or rapid deceleration. In such events, the dash cam automatically locks and saves the current video footage, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. These locked files are crucial for accident evidence.

GPS Tracking

The integrated GPS module records your driving speed, route, and precise location data. This information is embedded into the video files, providing verifiable proof with time-stamped footage and coordinates for accurate event review.

Wi-Fi APP Control

The dash cam supports Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to connect it to your smartphone via a dedicated mobile application. Through the app, you can preview live footage, download recorded videos, adjust settings, and manage files wirelessly without needing to remove the microSD card.

Parking Mode

For continuous monitoring when your vehicle is parked, the dash cam supports parking mode. This feature requires a hardwire kit (not included) to provide constant power to the dash cam even when the ignition is off. When enabled, the dash cam can detect impacts or motion and record footage while parked.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the camera lenses and screen with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the surfaces.
  • MicroSD Card: Periodically format your microSD card (at least once a month) to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Back up any important footage before formatting.
  • Temperature: The dash cam is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -10°C to 60°C. Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures outside this range for extended periods.

Troubleshooting

  • Dash Cam Not Powering On:
    • Ensure the cigarette lighter power cable is securely connected to both the dash cam and the vehicle's power socket.
    • Check if the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket is receiving power (e.g., by testing with another device).
  • Recording Issues:
    • Ensure a Class 10 or higher microSD card is inserted correctly.
    • Format the microSD card regularly.
    • If the card is full, loop recording should overwrite old files. If not, the card might be faulty or too slow.
  • Wi-Fi Connection Problems:
    • Ensure the dash cam's Wi-Fi is enabled.
    • Restart both the dash cam and your smartphone.
    • Ensure you are within close proximity to the dash cam.
    • Update the mobile application to the latest version.
  • GPS Not Recording Data:
    • Ensure the dash cam has a clear view of the sky to receive GPS signals.
    • Allow a few minutes for the GPS to acquire a signal after powering on.
