2. Included Components

Carefully unpack your ZAFRO Portable Air Conditioner and check that all the following components are included:

3. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly set up your portable air conditioner for optimal performance.

3.1 Window Panel Installation

  1. Step 1: Measure Your Window
    Measure the length of your window opening (labeled 'A' in the diagram). Refer to the provided table to select the appropriate window panels for your window type (horizontal or vertical sliding).

  2. Step 2: Assemble the Window Panels
    Pre-install the metal clip into one window panel. Then, assemble the window panels by inserting the metal clip into the path on the other panel, sliding them together to form the desired length.

  3. Step 3: Cut Adhesive Sealing Foam
    Cut the adhesive sealing foam according to the dimensions of your window opening and apply it to the window frame to ensure a tight seal.
  4. Step 4: Place Window Panels
    Place the assembled window panels onto the window sill.

  5. Step 5: Adjust and Fasten Panels
    Adjust the window panels assembly to fit snugly in the window opening. Then, fasten them securely using the provided butterfly bolts.
  6. Step 6: Close Window and Seal Gaps
    Close the window against the installed panels. Any remaining gaps in the window can be filled with non-adhesive sealing foam as needed to improve the room's sealing and efficiency.

  7. Step 7: Install Air Exhaust Hoses into Window Panel
    Align and install both air exhaust hose assemblies into the designated holes in the window panel. Press the latch to lock each air exhaust hose into the hole.
  8. Step 8: Attach Air Exhaust Hoses to AC Unit
    Attach the other end of each air exhaust hose onto the portable air conditioner unit. Ensure a minimum clearance of 17.75 inches (45 cm) around the unit for proper airflow.

4.2 Control Panel and Remote Control

The unit can be controlled via the digital panel on the top of the unit, the included remote control, or a smart app.

  • Digital Panel: Displays current temperature and settings. Buttons allow for mode selection, temperature adjustment, fan speed, and timer settings.
  • Remote Control: Provides convenient control of all functions from a distance. Insert the two AAA batteries (included) into the remote. Store the remote in its bracket when not in use.
  • Smart App: Connect your unit to the ZAFRO smart app for advanced control and scheduling features. Refer to the app's instructions for pairing.
  • Auto Swing: Activates the automatic swing function of the air louvers for wider air distribution.
  • 24-Hour Timer: Set the unit to turn on or off automatically within a 24-hour period.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your ZAFRO Portable Air Conditioner.

5.1 Cleaning the Air Filter

The unit features a removable filter that should be cleaned regularly (e.g., every two weeks, depending on usage) to maintain air quality and cooling efficiency.

  1. Unplug the air conditioner from the power outlet.
  2. Locate the filter access panel (refer to Figure 4.3 for visual).
  3. Remove the filter.
  4. Clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner or wash it gently with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  5. Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting it into the unit.

5.2 Drainage

This unit features drainage-free cooling due to its self-powered evaporation system. Under normal operating conditions, manual drainage is not required. However, in extremely humid environments, some condensation may accumulate. If the unit indicates a full water tank, refer to the troubleshooting section for instructions on manual drainage using the provided drainage hose.
