4. Product Overview
The PEAKMETER PM6501 features a compact design with an easy-to-read LCD display and intuitive controls.

5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the thermometer.
- Slide the battery cover downwards to open it.
- Insert two (2) 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity as indicated inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery cover by sliding it upwards until it clicks into place.

5.2 Connecting the K-Type Thermocouple Probe
- Identify the K-type thermocouple probe. It has a yellow plug at one end and a bead-type sensor at the other.
- Insert the yellow plug of the thermocouple probe into the K-type thermocouple jack located at the top of the thermometer. Ensure it is fully seated.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Powering On and Off
The device powers on automatically when batteries are installed and the unit is switched to ℃ or ℉. To power off, slide the ℃/OFF/℉ switch to the OFF position.
6.2 Taking Measurements
- Ensure the K-type thermocouple is securely inserted into the jack.
- Slide the unit selector switch to either ℃ (Celsius) or ℉ (Fahrenheit).
- Place the tip of the thermocouple probe in contact with the object or environment whose temperature you wish to measure.
- Read the temperature value displayed on the LCD screen.
- If the thermocouple is not connected or is open, the LCD will display the ambient environment temperature.
6.3 Data Hold Function
Press the HOLD button to freeze the current temperature reading on the display. Press the HOLD button again to release the reading and resume live measurement.
6.4 Range Resolution Selection
By default, the thermometer displays readings with a 1-degree resolution. If the displayed value is less than 200 (℃ or ℉), you can press the RANGE key to switch to a 0.1-degree resolution for more precise readings. Press RANGE again to return to 1-degree resolution.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the device is dry before storage or use.
7.2 Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries promptly to ensure accurate readings and proper device function. Refer to Section 5.1 for battery installation instructions.
7.3 Storage
When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the thermometer in its PU leather bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The recommended storage environment is -10℃ to 60℃ (14℉ to 140℉) with less than 70% RH.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Display / Device Not Turning On:
Check battery installation and ensure batteries are fresh. Verify correct polarity. - Display Shows Ambient Temperature Instead of Probe Reading:
Ensure the K-type thermocouple probe is securely connected to the jack. Check for any damage to the probe cable or connector. - Inaccurate Readings:
Ensure the probe tip is in proper contact with the measured object. Check if the probe is damaged. Replace batteries if the low battery indicator is on. - Low Battery Indication:
Replace the two 1.5V AAA batteries as soon as possible.
