Controls and Features
Familiarize yourself with the buttons and ports on your Orwell Pro radio:

- Power Button: Long press to turn the radio on or off.
- Mode Button: Press to cycle through DAB, FM, and Bluetooth modes.
- Menu/Info Button: Access menu options or display station information.

- USB-C Port: For charging the internal battery.

Setup
- Charging the Radio: Before first use, fully charge the radio. Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the radio's USB-C port and the other end to a compatible USB power adapter (not supplied) or a computer USB port. The charging indicator will show the charging status. A full charge provides up to 15 hours of playback.
- Extend the Antenna: For optimal radio reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna located on the back of the unit.
- Power On: Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds to turn on the radio.
Operating Instructions
1. Mode Selection
Press the Mode button repeatedly to switch between available modes: DAB Radio, FM Radio, and Bluetooth.
2. DAB/DAB+ Radio Operation

- Switch to DAB mode using the Mode button.
- The radio will automatically perform a full scan for available DAB/DAB+ stations (BestTune feature). This may take a few minutes.
- Once the scan is complete, the first available station will begin playing.
- Use the Navigation Left/Right buttons to browse through the list of available stations.
- Press OK to select a station.
- Saving Presets: To save a station, press and hold one of the Preset buttons (1-4) until 'Preset Saved' appears on the screen. For presets 5-40, press and hold the 5+ button, then use the navigation buttons to select a preset number and press OK to save.
- Recalling Presets: Briefly press a Preset button (1-4) to instantly tune to the saved station. For presets 5-40, briefly press the 5+ button, then use navigation to select and OK to confirm.
3. FM Radio Operation

- Switch to FM mode using the Mode button.
- To auto-scan for stations, press and hold the OK button. The radio will scan and save available stations.
- To manually tune, briefly press the Navigation Left/Right buttons to adjust the frequency in small increments. Press and hold these buttons for a quick scan to the next strong station.
- Saving and Recalling Presets: The process is identical to DAB radio.
4. Bluetooth Operation

- Switch to Bluetooth mode using the Mode button. The display will show 'Bluetooth Pairing' or similar.
- On your Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., smartphone, tablet), search for Bluetooth devices.
- Select 'Orwell Pro' from the list of available devices.
- Once paired, the radio will confirm the connection, and you can now stream audio from your device to the Orwell Pro.
- Use your connected device to control playback (play/pause, skip tracks) and the radio's volume knob to adjust the output volume.
5. Sleep Timer
The Orwell Pro features a sleep timer function. To activate, press the Menu/Info button, navigate to 'Sleep Timer', and select your desired duration (e.g., 15, 30, 60 minutes). The radio will automatically turn off after the set time.
6. Equalizer
The radio includes an equalizer to adjust audio output. Access this feature via the Menu/Info button to select from various preset sound profiles or customize your own.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the radio with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Recharge the radio regularly, especially if it will not be used for an extended period.
