Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Lens: After each use, especially in dirty or dusty environments, gently wipe the camera lens with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn grime, a small amount of lens cleaning solution can be applied to the cloth. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
  • Cable Care: The 16.5 ft (5m) semi-rigid cable should be coiled loosely for storage to prevent kinks or damage. Avoid sharp bends or excessive force when manipulating the cable.
  • Waterproof Rating: The endoscope camera and cable are IP67 waterproof, allowing for use in damp or submerged conditions. After use in water, ensure the camera head and cable are thoroughly dried before storage. Do not submerge the USB connector or your connected device.
  • Storage: Store the endoscope and its accessories in a clean, dry place away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting

Problem: Endoscope not recognized by Android device.
Solution: Ensure OTG (On-The-Go) is enabled in your Android device's settings. This setting is often found under "System," "Connected devices," or "Developer options." Some older Android devices may not support OTG.
Problem: No image or black screen in the app.
Solution:
  • Verify the endoscope is securely connected to your device.
  • Check if the DEPSTECHCAM app has been granted camera and storage permissions.
  • Restart the DEPSTECHCAM app and reconnect the endoscope.
  • Ensure your device's operating system meets the minimum requirements (iOS 11.0+ or Android 9.0+).
Problem: Image quality is poor or blurry.
Solution:
  • Clean the camera lens carefully as described in the Maintenance section.
  • Adjust the LED brightness using the dial on the cable to optimize lighting for the inspection area.
  • The optimal focal distance for the endoscope is typically between 0.78-3.93 inches (2-10 cm). Ensure the object of interest is within this range.
  • Minimize camera movement during inspection to reduce blur.
Problem: Cannot save photos or videos.
Solution: Confirm that the DEPSTECHCAM app has permission to access your device's storage or photo gallery. Check your device's storage space to ensure there is enough room for new files.
