4. Setup

4.1. Battery Installation and Charging

Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use. The KIMO 20V 2.0Ah Li-Ion battery can only be charged with the provided KIMO charger. A full charge typically takes 60 minutes.

  1. To install the battery, align the battery pack with the base of the tool and slide it in until it clicks securely into place.
  2. To remove the battery, press the release button on the battery pack and slide it out.

4.2. Attaching Accessories (Quick-Change System)

The KIMO oscillating tool features a quick-change accessory system for easy and safe blade changes.

  1. Ensure the tool is switched off and the battery is removed before changing accessories.
  2. Lift the clamping lever on the tool head to release the accessory.
  3. Align the desired accessory (blade, sanding plate, etc.) with the tool head, ensuring the accessory fits over the six small pins for universal compatibility.
  4. Push the clamping lever back down until it locks securely, holding the accessory in place.

4.3. Attaching the Auxiliary Handle

The tool includes a 2-position auxiliary handle for optimal control and comfort during various applications.

  1. Screw the auxiliary handle into one of the two designated threaded holes on the tool head.
  2. Tighten the handle firmly to ensure stability during operation.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Powering On/Off and Variable Speed Control

The tool features a 6-speed position dial to adjust the oscillation rate (OPM - Oscillations Per Minute) for different materials and tasks.

  1. To turn the tool ON, slide the power switch forward.
  2. Adjust the speed by rotating the 6-speed position dial. Lower speeds (1-2, 5,000-10,000 OPM) are ideal for controlled starts in hardwoods, while mid-range (3-4, 12,000-16,000 OPM) is suitable for metal/plastic cutting. Higher speeds (5-6, up to 21,000 OPM) provide maximum efficiency for sanding and faster material removal.
  3. To turn the tool OFF, slide the power switch backward.

5.2. LED Work Light and Power Cue Light

The tool is equipped with an LED work light to illuminate the work area and a power cue light to indicate battery status.

6.1. Cleaning
