1. Introduction

The EIGHTREE Smart Plug (Model ET05) is designed to provide convenient control over your electronic devices. It supports both 5GHz and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks, ensuring stable connectivity across various home network setups. With compatibility for popular voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Home, you can manage your appliances with simple voice commands. The smart plug also offers remote control via the Smart Life app, along with advanced scheduling and timer functions to automate your home and save energy.

2. Safety Information

Please read and follow all safety instructions carefully before using the EIGHTREE Smart Plug. Failure to do so may result in electric shock, fire, or other hazards.

• Do not use the device in wet or damp environments.
• Do not exceed the maximum load rating of 1200W 10A.
• Ensure the plug is fully inserted into the wall outlet.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not disassemble or modify the device.
• Unplug the device from the outlet before cleaning.
• The product is designed for indoor use only.

4. Setup

4.1 Powering On and Pairing Mode

1. Plug the EIGHTREE Smart Plug into a standard wall outlet.
2. The power indicator light on the plug should start blinking. If it does not blink, press and hold the power button on the side of the plug for approximately 5 seconds until the light starts blinking. This indicates the device is in pairing mode.

4.2 Connecting to the Smart Life App

The EIGHTREE Smart Plug uses the Smart Life app for control and configuration. Ensure your mobile device's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled.

1. Download the 'Smart Life' app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
2. Register or log in to your Smart Life account.
3. Open the Smart Life app. The app may automatically detect the new device in pairing mode. If not, tap the '+' icon in the top right corner or 'Add Device'.
4. Select 'Electrical' > 'Socket (Dualband 2.4GHz&5GHz)' or 'Smart Plug'.
5. Confirm the indicator light on the smart plug is blinking.
6. Enter your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password. The EIGHTREE Smart Plug supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection. The process usually takes 15-30 seconds.

4.3 Integrating with Voice Assistants (Alexa & Google Home)

To enable voice control, link your Smart Life account with your Amazon Alexa or Google Home app.

1. Open the Amazon Alexa app or Google Home app.
2. Navigate to the 'Skills & Games' section (Alexa) or 'Works with Google' section (Google Home).
3. Search for 'Smart Life' and enable the skill/service.
4. Link your Smart Life account by entering your Smart Life app credentials.
5. Discover devices. Your EIGHTREE Smart Plug should now appear in your Alexa/Google Home device list.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Remote Control via Smart Life App

Once connected, you can control your smart plug from anywhere using the Smart Life app.

• Open the Smart Life app.
• Tap on the smart plug device to access its control interface.
• Use the on/off toggle to switch the connected appliance's power.

5.2 Voice Control (Alexa & Google Home)

Use simple voice commands to control your devices after linking your Smart Life account.

• For Alexa: "Alexa, turn on [device name]" or "Alexa, turn off [device name]".
• For Google Home: "Hey Google, turn on [device name]" or "Hey Google, turn off [device name]".

5.3 Timers & Schedules

Automate your devices with various timing functions available in the Smart Life app.

• Schedule: Set specific times for your device to turn on or off daily or on selected days.
• Countdown: Set a timer for the device to turn off after a specified duration.
• Circulate: Configure the device to cycle on and off at regular intervals.
• Random: Activate 'Away-Mode' to randomly turn devices on/off, making it appear as if someone is home.
• Sunrise/Sunset: Automate devices to turn on/off at local sunrise or sunset times.

5.4 Manual Control

The smart plug also features a physical power button on its side. Press this button to manually turn the connected appliance on or off.

6. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your EIGHTREE Smart Plug, follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Keep the device clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or sprays.
• Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight.
• Regularly check for any signs of damage to the plug or connected cables.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Connection Issues

• Device not connecting to Wi-Fi: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz or 5GHz. The smart plug is compatible with both. Check if your router is within range and has a stable internet connection.
• Indicator light not blinking: Press and hold the power button on the side of the plug for 5 seconds to enter pairing mode.
• Connection failed in app: Double-check your Wi-Fi password. Make sure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you are trying to connect the smart plug to.

7.2 Voice Control Problems

• Voice commands not working: Ensure your Smart Life account is correctly linked to your Alexa or Google Home app. Verify the device name in the Smart Life app matches the name you are using in your voice commands.
• Alexa/Google Home not discovering device: Try rediscovering devices in your Alexa or Google Home app after linking the Smart Life skill.
