Maintenance

1. Software Updates

Regular software updates are provided by Samsung to enhance security, improve performance, and introduce new features. Ensure your device is connected to Wi-Fi and has sufficient battery life before performing updates. Navigate to Settings > Software update to check for and install updates.

2. Battery Care

To prolong battery lifespan, avoid extreme temperatures. The device features a battery protection option that can limit charging to 80% to reduce battery degradation over time. This setting can be found in Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > More battery settings.

3. Water Resistance

The Samsung Galaxy S26 5G is water resistant. However, this is not a permanent condition and resistance may decrease as a result of normal wear. Avoid exposing the device to high-pressure water or liquids other than fresh water. Ensure all ports are dry before charging.

Troubleshooting

1. Device Overheating

During extended periods of high-performance tasks, such as gaming or 60fps video recording, the device may become warm. This is normal. If the device becomes excessively hot, close background applications, reduce screen brightness, or allow the device to cool down before resuming intensive use. The redesigned Vapor Chamber helps manage heat efficiently.

2. Camera Issues

  • Front Camera Image Quality: If front camera images appear inconsistent or washed out, ensure all beautifying effects are disabled in the camera settings. Software updates may address specific image processing behaviors.
  • Low Mic Volume in Videos: In Pro Video mode, tap the microphone icon and adjust the decibel sensitivity (e.g., to +12 for maximum sensitivity) to improve audio capture during video recording.

3. Display and Interface

  • Dark Mode Incompatibility: If certain apps do not respond to Dark Mode settings, consider enabling the Color Inversion shortcut in Accessibility settings as a workaround.
  • Developer Options Resetting: Developer options may reset after a device restart or power off. Re-enable them as needed.

4. Network Connectivity

If experiencing signal issues, ensure your SIM card is correctly inserted and that you are in an area with adequate network coverage. Try restarting the device or resetting network settings in Settings > General management > Reset > Reset network settings.
