5. Setup Instructions
There are two primary methods to set up your Hyzom WiFi Extender: using the WPS button or via a web browser.
5.1. WPS Setup (Recommended for quick setup)
- Power On: Plug the Hyzom WiFi Extender into an electrical outlet near your main router. Wait for the Power LED to turn solid.
- Press WPS on Router: Within two minutes, press the WPS button on your main WiFi router. Refer to your router's manual for the exact location of its WPS button.
- Press WPS on Extender: Immediately after pressing the WPS button on your router, press the WPS button on the Hyzom WiFi Extender.
- Wait for Connection: The WiFi Extender's signal LED should blink and then turn solid, indicating a successful connection. This process may take a few moments.
- Relocate Extender: Once connected, unplug the extender and move it to a location halfway between your router and the WiFi dead zone. Ensure the signal LED remains solid or strong after relocation.

5.2. Browser-Based Setup
- Power On: Plug the Hyzom WiFi Extender into an electrical outlet near your main router. Wait for the Power LED to turn solid.
- Connect to Extender's Network: On your computer or mobile device, connect to the WiFi network broadcast by the extender (e.g., "Hyzom_Extender" or similar, without a password).
- Access Setup Page: Open a web browser and enter the default IP address or domain name (usually found on a sticker on the device or in a quick start guide) into the address bar. Follow the on-screen instructions to log in (default username/password is often "admin").
- Select Router Network: The extender will scan for available WiFi networks. Select your main router's network from the list.
- Enter Password: Enter the WiFi password for your main router's network.
- Configure Extender Network: You may be prompted to create a new network name (SSID) for the extended network or use the same as your main router. It is recommended to use a different name (e.g., "YourNetworkName_EXT") to easily identify the extended network.
- Complete Setup: Follow any remaining prompts to complete the setup. The extender will restart.
- Relocate Extender: Once configured, unplug the extender and move it to a location halfway between your router and the WiFi dead zone. Ensure the signal LED indicates a strong connection after relocation.
6. Operating the WiFi Extender
After successful setup, the Hyzom WiFi Extender will automatically extend your wireless network. Devices within the extended range can connect to the new network name (SSID) you configured during setup.
- Optimal Placement: For best performance, place the extender in a location where it receives a good signal from your main router and can effectively broadcast to the desired dead zones. Avoid placing it near large metal objects, microwaves, or other sources of interference.
- Connecting Devices: Connect your wireless devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops, smart TVs, gaming consoles) to the extended WiFi network using the password you set during configuration.
- Wired Connections: Use the Ethernet ports on the extender to connect wired devices for a stable internet connection.

- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Restarting: If you experience network issues, try restarting the extender by unplugging it from the power outlet for 10 seconds and then plugging it back in.
8. Troubleshooting
- Q: The extender is not powering on.
- A: Ensure the power adapter is securely plugged into both the extender and a working electrical outlet. Try a different outlet.
- Q: I cannot connect to the extended network.
- A: Verify that the extender is properly set up and connected to your main router (check the signal LED). Ensure you are connecting to the correct extended network name (SSID) and using the correct password. Try restarting both your router and the extender.
- Q: The signal is weak or unstable after setup.
- A: Relocate the extender to a position that is halfway between your router and the desired coverage area. Ensure there are no major obstructions (thick walls, metal objects) between the router, extender, and your devices. Adjust the extender's antennas for optimal signal direction.
- Q: WPS setup failed.
- A: Ensure your router supports WPS and that you are pressing the WPS buttons on both devices within the specified timeframe. If WPS continues to fail, try the browser-based setup method.
- Q: I forgot the login password for the extender's web management page.
- A: You can reset the extender to factory default settings by pressing and holding the Reset button for 5-8 seconds with a pin. After resetting, you will need to reconfigure the extender.
