Setup Instructions

Follow these steps for tool-free installation of your HDD/SSD:

1. Open the Enclosure: Push the top cover backward and then lift it up to open the top cover of the enclosure.
2. Insert the Drive: Carefully insert your 2.5-inch SSD or 3.5-inch HDD into the enclosure's SATA connector. Ensure it is seated firmly.
3. Apply EVA Pad (Optional): For a more secure fit and shock protection, stick the appropriate EVA pad. Use the 84.6x82x25.5mm EVA padding for 2.5" SSDs or the 35x35x8mm EVA pad for thin 3.5" HDDs (height less than 20mm).
4. Close the Enclosure: Slide the top cover back into place until it clicks securely.
5. Connect to Host Device: Use the included USB A/C to C cable to connect the enclosure to a USB port on your computer or host device.
6. Provide Power: For 3.5-inch HDDs, external power is required. Connect the included USB2.0 C to C cable to the enclosure's DC 12V port and the 20W GaN Fast Charger, then plug the charger into a power outlet. For 2.5-inch SSDs/HDDs, external power may not be necessary but is recommended for stable operation.

Operating Instructions

Driver-Free, Plug and Play

The BENFEI enclosure is designed for immediate use without requiring any driver installation. Simply connect it to your device, and it will be recognized automatically.

Data Transfer

Once connected, your installed HDD/SSD will appear as an external storage device on your computer. You can then drag and drop files, perform backups, or manage data as you would with any other external drive.

Smart Auto Sleep Function

The enclosure features a smart auto-sleep function. If the drive is inactive for a certain period, it will automatically enter sleep mode to conserve power and extend the lifespan of your HDD/SSD. The drive will wake up automatically upon activity.

On/Off Switch
