1. Introduction

The Phoebe Manual Recliner is a 3-way recliner featuring a flared tight back, flared welted rolled arms, and a loose welted box seat cushion. The cushion contains pocketed coil springs encased in foam, wrapped in Dacron with a down blend topper. It is supported by hand-carved wood legs.

4. Setup and Assembly

Your Phoebe recliner may arrive with the legs detached for shipping. Follow these steps for assembly:

1. Carefully remove all packaging materials.
2. With assistance, gently lay the recliner on its back on a soft, clean surface to avoid scratching the upholstery.
3. Locate the attachment points for the legs on the underside of the recliner.
4. Attach each leg securely. Ensure they are tightened firmly but do not overtighten.
5. With assistance, carefully return the recliner to its upright position.
6. Position the recliner in your desired location, ensuring there is sufficient space behind it for reclining (Wall Proximity: 17 inches).

5. Operating Instructions

The Phoebe recliner features a manual push-through-the-arm reclining mechanism.

1. To Recline: While seated, gently push back on the armrests and your back simultaneously. The footrest will extend, and the backrest will recline. Continue pushing until you reach your desired reclining position.
2. To Return to Upright Position: Gently push down on the footrest with your legs while leaning forward slightly. The footrest will retract, and the backrest will return to its upright position. Ensure the footrest is fully closed before exiting the recliner.

6. Maintenance and Care

Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your recliner. This recliner is upholstered in leather.

• General Cleaning: Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
• Leather Care: For spills, blot immediately with a clean, absorbent cloth. Do not rub. For general cleaning, use a leather cleaner and conditioner specifically designed for top-grain leather, following the product's instructions. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or excessive moisture.
• Mechanism Care: The reclining mechanism is designed for long-term use. Avoid forcing the mechanism. If it becomes stiff, a silicone-based lubricant can be applied sparingly to moving parts, but consult a professional if issues persist.
• Sunlight Exposure: Avoid placing the recliner in direct sunlight for prolonged periods, as this can cause fading and drying of the leather.

If you encounter issues with your recliner, refer to the following common solutions:

• Recliner does not recline smoothly:
  • Ensure no objects are obstructing the reclining mechanism.
