4. Setup

1. Unpack the Device: Carefully remove the bug zapper and all accessories from the packaging.
2. Initial Charge: Before first use, fully charge the internal 2600mAh battery using the provided USB-C cable. Connect the Type-C cable to the charging port on the device and to a suitable USB power adapter (not included). The charging indicator will turn from red to green when fully charged (approximately 6 hours).
3. Solar Panel Connection (Optional): If using solar charging, connect the solar panel cable to the designated charging port on the bug zapper.
4. Placement:
   • For optimal performance, place the bug zapper in an area where insects are prevalent, away from human activity.
   • When using the solar panel, ensure it is positioned in direct sunlight for maximum charging efficiency. The 3.6-meter cable allows flexible placement.

5. Operating Instructions

The PALONE Bug Zapper features a multi-mode selection for various operational needs:

• Normal Mode: In this mode, the bug zapper operates continuously. If the solar panel is connected and exposed to sunlight, the device will charge while operating.
• Off Mode: Turns the device completely off. This mode is recommended when the device is not in use or during cleaning.
• Night Mode: This mode relies on the built-in battery and activates automatically when ambient light levels are low (e.g., at dusk). It operates without requiring direct sunlight or a Type-C connection.

To select a mode, use the adjusting button located on the device. Refer to the product diagram for the exact location of the button.

The PALONE Bug Zapper offers two convenient charging methods:

• USB-C Charging: Connect the provided Type-C cable to the device and a USB power source. This method provides a fast full charge, typically within 6 hours. The charging indicator will change from red to green when complete. A full charge supports up to 13 hours of continuous use.
• Solar Charging: Connect the 7.5W 5V solar panel to the device. Place the solar panel in direct sunlight. The device will charge automatically. This is ideal for outdoor use, allowing the device to operate independently once charged.

8. Maintenance

1. Power Off: Always ensure the unit is turned off and disconnected from any power source (USB-C or solar panel) before cleaning.
2. Empty Bug Collection Tray: The bug collection tray is located at the bottom of the unit. Twist the tray to the left to unlock it, then gently pull it out.
3. Clean the Tray: Dispose of collected insects. The tray can be rinsed with water. Ensure it is completely dry before reattaching.
4. Clean the Grid: Use the provided cleaning brush to gently remove any insects or debris from the high-voltage grid. Do not use water or metal objects on the grid.
5. Reassemble: Once clean and dry, reinsert the bug collection tray and twist it to the right to lock it securely.
