Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the screen or casing.
2. Battery Care
To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the device frequently. Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods. Recharge the battery periodically if stored for a long time.
3. Software Updates
Periodically check for Meshtastic firmware updates through the official Meshtastic community or associated applications. Keeping the firmware updated ensures optimal performance and access to new features.
4. SD Card Management
The preloaded maps on the SD card are static. If you wish to update maps or add custom data, refer to Meshtastic community resources for instructions on managing SD card content. Always back up important data before making changes.
Troubleshooting
- Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a power source and attempt to power on again. If the issue persists, contact support.
- Cannot send/receive messages: Check if other devices are within range and powered on. Verify that both devices are on the same Meshtastic channel/network. Obstructions (e.g., dense foliage, buildings) can affect range.
- GPS not acquiring signal: Ensure the device has a clear view of the sky. GPS signal acquisition may take longer in dense urban areas or indoors.
- Screen unresponsive: Try restarting the device. If the issue continues, perform a hard reset (refer to advanced user guides or support).
- SD card not recognized: Power off the device, remove and reinsert the SD card firmly. Ensure the card is not damaged.
