3. Operating Instructions

Understand the controls and functions of your D07 DAC:

  • Power On/Off: A short press of the volume knob will power on the device. A long press of the volume knob will power off the device.
  • Input Selection: Short press the volume knob to cycle through the available input sources: USB, Optical (OPT), and Coaxial (COAX). The corresponding LED indicator on the front panel will illuminate to show the active input.
  • Volume Control: Rotate the volume knob clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease volume.
  • Mute/Unmute: Double-click the volume knob to mute or unmute the audio output.
  • Output Channel Selection: Use the toggle switch on the front panel to select the desired RCA output channels: CH1, CH2, or CH1+2.
  • Bypass Mode (DAC/DAC+Preamp): Press and hold the BYPASS button on the rear panel for approximately 3 seconds to switch between DAC mode (fixed output level) and DAC+Preamp mode (variable output level controlled by the volume knob).
  • USB Audio Class (UAC) Selection: Use the UAC selector switch on the rear panel to choose between UAC 1.0 and UAC 2.0 modes for USB input. UAC 1.0 is recommended for devices like PS5/Switch for broader compatibility.

4. Key Features

  • High-Fidelity Chipset: The D07 features a premium audio architecture including the AK4493SEQ DAC for warm sound, an NE5532P op-amp, and an XMOS XU316 USB processor for precise decoding and stable transmission.
  • High-Resolution Audio Support: Effortlessly handles audio streams up to 768 kHz/32 bit PCM and DSD512, providing exceptional resolution and an immersive listening experience.
  • Interchangeable Op-Amp Design: The NE5532P op-amp is mounted on a DIP8 socket, allowing for easy replacement with compatible models such as OPA1612, MUSES02, LME49720, Sparkos SS3602, or OPA2604. This feature enables users to customize the audio signature according to their preferences.
  • Exceptional Performance Metrics: Measured performance characteristics include a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of up to 118 dB and a total harmonic distortion plus noise (THD+N) of just 0.0002%. This ensures an exceptionally pure background, rich details, and highly faithful sound reproduction.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your AIYIMA D07, please observe the following maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth for cleaning the exterior. Avoid using liquid cleaners, aerosols, or solvents.
  • Environment: Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight. Ensure it is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating.
  • Handling: Handle the device with care. Do not drop it or subject it to strong impacts.
  • Servicing: Do not attempt to disassemble, modify, or repair the device yourself. Doing so may cause damage, electrical shock, and will void the product warranty. For any service needs, please contact authorized service personnel.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your AIYIMA D07, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Sound Output:
    • Verify all power and audio cable connections are secure.
    • Ensure the correct input source (USB, OPT, COAX) is selected on the D07.
    • Check that the volume level is not set to minimum or muted (double-click the volume knob to unmute).
    • Confirm that your connected amplifier, active speakers, or headphones are powered on and functioning correctly.
    • If using USB input, try switching the UAC mode (UAC 1.0 or UAC 2.0) on the rear panel.
  • Distorted or Poor Sound Quality:
    • Check all audio cables for damage or loose connections.
    • Ensure the audio source is not overdriving the input (e.g., volume too high on the source device).
    • Verify that the sample rate and bit depth settings on your source device are compatible with the D07's capabilities.
  • Device Not Recognized via USB:
    • Try connecting the D07 to a different USB port on your computer or source device.
    • Use a different USB cable to rule out cable issues.
    • Ensure the UAC switch on the rear panel is set appropriately for your operating system or device (UAC 1.0 for PS5/Switch, UAC 2.0 for most modern computers).
    • For some operating systems, specific drivers might be required. Refer to the manufacturer's website for driver downloads if automatic installation fails.
