4.1 Initial Assembly
Your EK15 electric bike comes partially assembled. Follow these general steps for final assembly:
- Handlebar Installation: Attach the handlebar to the stem, ensuring it is centered and tightened securely.
- Pedal Attachment: Identify the left (L) and right (R) pedals. The left pedal tightens counter-clockwise, and the right pedal tightens clockwise. Ensure they are fully tightened.
- Seat Post Adjustment: Insert the seat post into the frame and adjust the height for a comfortable riding position. Secure it with the quick-release lever.
- Front Wheel Installation: If not pre-installed, attach the front wheel, ensuring the disc brake rotor is correctly aligned with the caliper.
- Check All Fasteners: Before your first ride, double-check all bolts, nuts, and quick-release levers to ensure they are securely tightened.
4.2 Battery Charging
Before your first ride, fully charge the battery. The 36V 13Ah lithium-ion battery takes approximately 6 to 7 hours for a full charge.
- Locate the charging port on the battery. The battery can be charged while installed on the bike or removed.
- Connect the charger to the charging port.
- Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet. The indicator light on the charger will typically turn red during charging and green when fully charged.
- Once fully charged, disconnect the charger from the outlet first, then from the battery.
