1. Important Safety Information

Read and understand all safety precautions before operating the generator. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or death.

Carbon Monoxide (CO) Hazard

Generators produce carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas. Using a generator indoors can kill you in minutes. Always operate the generator outdoors, far away from windows, doors, and vents. The LIFAN LF6800iE is equipped with a CO-Minder sensor that automatically shuts down the engine if unsafe carbon monoxide levels are detected. Do not disable or bypass this safety feature.

Fuel Safety

• Gasoline is highly flammable. Store fuel in an approved container in a well-ventilated area.
• Never refuel a hot or running engine. Allow the generator to cool before adding fuel.
• Do not overfill the fuel tank. Leave space for fuel expansion.

• Never operate the generator in wet conditions. Keep it dry.

3. Setup and First Use

Follow these critical steps before starting your generator for the first time.

3.1 Connect Battery

The internal battery cables are disconnected for safety during shipping. You MUST connect the Red cable to the Positive (+) terminal before use.

3.2 Add Engine Oil

The unit ships DRY. You MUST add SAE 10W-40 oil (approximately 0.7L) before the first start to prevent engine damage. Use the included oil funnel. Check the dipstick to ensure the oil level is correct.

3.3 Add Fuel

Fill the fuel tank with fresh, unleaded gasoline. Do not use E85 or other ethanol-heavy fuels. Ensure the fuel cap is securely tightened after filling.

4.1 Control Panel Overview

4.2 Starting the Generator

Ensure the generator is on a level surface, outdoors, and away from any obstructions.

1. Turn the fuel cap vent to the 'ON' position.
2. Set the engine switch to 'ON'.
3. Choose your starting method:
• Electric Start: Press and hold the 'START' button on the control panel.
• Remote Start: Use the included remote key fob to start the generator from up to 50 feet away.
• Recoil Start: Pull the recoil starter handle firmly until the engine starts.
4. Once the engine is running, allow it to warm up for a few moments before connecting electrical loads.

4.3 Connecting Electrical Loads

Plug your appliances or power cords into the appropriate outlets. Do not exceed the generator's rated wattage.

Engine Will Not Start

• Spark Plug Issue: Inspect spark plug for fouling or damage.
• Battery Disconnected/Dead: Ensure battery cables are connected and battery is charged for electric start.

No Power Output

• Overload: Reduce connected load. The generator may have shut off due to overload.
• Circuit Breaker Tripped: Check and reset any tripped circuit breakers on the control panel.
• ECO Mode: Ensure ECO mode is not causing insufficient power for starting high-demand appliances.

Engine Shuts Down Unexpectedly

• CO-Minder Activation: Move the generator to a well-ventilated area. The CO-Minder sensor detected unsafe carbon monoxide levels.
• Low Oil: The low oil sensor may have shut down the engine. Check and add oil.
• Overload: Reduce connected load.
