3. Installation and Setup

This water heater is designed for point-of-use applications. It comes with a full set of installation accessories. Professional installation is recommended.

3.1 Choosing an Installation Location

  • Select a location close to the hot water tap to minimize heat loss and ensure quick hot water delivery.
  • Ensure the location can support the weight of the unit when full (approximately 9.3 lbs empty + 2.64 gallons * 8.34 lbs/gallon = ~31 lbs).
  • The unit can be wall-mounted, bracket-mounted, or floor-standing.
  • Ensure adequate clearance around the unit for ventilation and maintenance.

3.2 Plumbing Connections

  1. Turn off the main water supply.
  2. Connect the cold water supply line to the blue inlet port on the water heater.
  3. Connect the hot water outlet line from the red outlet port on the water heater to the hot water faucet.
  4. Install a pressure relief valve (not explicitly mentioned as included, but standard practice for water heaters).
  5. Open the hot water faucet to allow air to escape while the tank fills.

4.2 Adjusting Water Temperature

  • Use the rotary knob on the front panel to set the desired water temperature. The temperature range is 50°F to 167°F (10°C to 75°C).

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your water heater. Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance.

  • Draining the Tank: If the unit will be unused for an extended period or if there is a risk of freezing, drain the tank completely. Refer to the installation section for plumbing connections.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
