5. Setup and Installation

  1. Mounting the Servo:

Secure the INJS15 servo into the designated servo mount on your RC crawler chassis using the provided mounting screws. Ensure the servo is firmly attached to prevent movement during operation.

  2. Attaching the Servo Horn:

Select the appropriate servo horn for your application. With your RC vehicle's electronics powered on and the steering trim centered, carefully attach the servo horn to the servo spline. Ensure the horn is aligned as straight as possible relative to your steering linkage. Secure the horn with the small screw provided.

  3. Connecting to Receiver:

Connect the servo's 3-pin connector to the appropriate channel on your RC receiver (typically Channel 1 for steering). Ensure the polarity is correct (signal, positive, negative).

  4. Initial Calibration:

With your transmitter and receiver powered on, check the servo's movement. Adjust the steering trim and endpoints on your transmitter to ensure the servo operates within its full range without binding or over-extending the steering linkage.

6. Operating Instructions

The INJORA INJS15 servo is designed for precise control in RC crawler applications. Follow these general operating guidelines:

  • Power Supply: Ensure your receiver and servo are powered by a compatible power source within the specified operating voltage range (6V-7.4V). Using an incompatible voltage can damage the servo.
  • Steering Control: Operate your RC vehicle's steering via the transmitter. The coreless motor provides quick and accurate response to your commands.
  • Waterproof Operation: While the servo is waterproof, avoid prolonged submersion in deep water. After operating in wet conditions, allow the servo to dry thoroughly and inspect for any debris.
  • Avoid Overloading: Do not force the servo past its mechanical limits or attempt to move the wheels manually against the servo's resistance when powered on, as this can cause damage to the gears or motor.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your INJS15 servo:

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the servo to remove dirt, dust, and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure no moisture enters the servo case through the output shaft.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the servo for any signs of physical damage, loose screws, or worn wires. Check the servo horn and linkage for proper attachment and freedom of movement.
  • Gear Check: If you notice any unusual noise or play in the servo, it may indicate wear in the gears. While the stainless steel gears are durable, extreme conditions can cause wear. Disassembly for gear inspection should only be performed by experienced users.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the servo in a clean, dry environment away from extreme temperatures.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Servo not respondingNo power, incorrect connection, faulty receiver/transmitter.Check power supply to receiver. Verify servo connection to receiver (correct channel and polarity). Test with a different servo or receiver if possible.
Servo jitters or moves erraticallyInterference, low battery voltage, damaged servo wire, binding linkage.Ensure no strong electrical interference. Check battery voltage. Inspect servo wire for damage. Ensure steering linkage moves freely without obstruction.
Servo lacks strength or speedLow voltage, excessive load, worn gears.Verify power supply voltage is within specifications. Reduce load on the servo if possible. Inspect gears for wear.
Servo makes grinding noiseDamaged or worn gears, foreign object in gears.Disassemble (if experienced) to inspect gears for damage or foreign objects. Replace gears if necessary.
