Important Safety Information

WARNING: Serious injury or death can occur if safety precautions are not followed.

  • Consult a physician before starting any exercise program.
  • Keep children and pets away from the equipment during use.
  • Ensure all bolts and nuts are securely tightened before each use.
  • Inspect the machine for worn or damaged parts before each use. Do not use if damaged.
  • Use the equipment only on a level surface.
  • Wear appropriate exercise attire and footwear.
  • Do not exceed the maximum user weight or weight stack capacity.
  • Perform exercises slowly and in a controlled manner. Avoid sudden movements.
  • If you experience pain or dizziness, stop exercising immediately.

Package Contents

Carefully unpack all components and verify against the list below. If any parts are missing or damaged, contact Body-Solid customer service.

  • 1 x Body-Solid GLM84S Pulley Machine (main frame and weight stack)
  • 1 x Lat Pulldown Bar (with neoprene coating)
  • 1 x Straight Bar
  • Assembly Hardware (bolts, nuts, washers, etc.)
  • User Manual (this document)

Assembly and Setup

Assembly requires two people. Ensure you have adequate space and all tools required (not included, typically wrenches and an Allen key set).

  1. Unpack Components: Lay out all parts on a clean, flat surface. Refer to the included assembly diagram (if provided separately) to identify each component.
  2. Assemble Base Frame: Connect the main base frame components using the specified bolts and nuts. Do not fully tighten bolts until instructed.
  3. Install Weight Stack: Carefully place the 95 kg weight stack into its designated position. Ensure the guide rods are properly aligned.
  4. Attach Pulleys and Cables: Route the cables through the pulleys as shown in the assembly diagram. Ensure cables are not twisted and move freely. The "no cable change" technology allows for seamless transitions between high and low pulley exercises.
  5. Mount Seat and Knee Rollers: Attach the DuraFirm seat cushion (8 cm thick) and the 20 cm foam knee rollers. The knee rollers are adjustable in 8 positions for high pulley exercises.
  6. Attach Foot Plate: Secure the foot plate for low pulley rowing exercises.
  7. Final Tightening: Once all components are in place and aligned, progressively tighten all bolts and nuts. Do not overtighten.
  8. Test Movement: Before first use, perform a full range of motion with light weight to ensure smooth operation and proper cable tension.

Operating Instructions

The GLM84S is designed for both high and low pulley exercises, offering smooth transitions due to its 95 kg selectable weight stack and patented nylon bushings.

Selecting Weight

  • Insert the selector pin into the desired weight plate on the stack. Ensure the pin is fully inserted through the plate.
  • Do not drop the weight stack. Control the movement throughout the exercise.

High Pulley Exercises (e.g., Lat Pulldowns)

  • Attach the lat pulldown bar to the high pulley cable.
  • Adjust the foam knee rollers to a comfortable height to secure your legs. The seat height is 46.6 cm.
  • Sit on the DuraFirm seat, grasp the bar, and perform the exercise with controlled movements.

Low Pulley Exercises (e.g., Seated Rows)

  • Attach the straight bar (or other appropriate attachment) to the low pulley cable.
  • Sit on the floor or a bench, place your feet against the foot plate, and grasp the bar.
  • Perform the exercise with controlled movements, focusing on proper form.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your GLM84S Pulley Machine.

  • Daily: Wipe down the machine with a damp cloth after each use to remove sweat and dust.
  • Weekly: Inspect all cables for fraying, kinks, or wear. Check all bolts, nuts, and connections for tightness. Tighten if necessary.
  • Monthly: Lubricate guide rods and pivot points with a silicone-based lubricant. Do not use oil-based lubricants.
  • Annually: Have the machine professionally inspected for wear and tear, especially if used in a semi-professional setting.
  • Replace any worn or damaged parts immediately with genuine Body-Solid replacement parts.
