3. Port Layout

• PD-IN (Charging Only): Connect your laptop's USB-C power adapter (up to 100W input).
• USB A 2.0 (480Mbps): For connecting peripherals like keyboards, mice, or other low-bandwidth devices.
• HDMI 1/2 (4K@30Hz for DP1.2, 4K@60Hz for DP1.4): Connect HDMI-enabled monitors.
• DP (8K@30Hz for DP1.4): Connect DisplayPort-enabled monitors.
• VGA (1920*1080P/60Hz): Connect VGA-enabled monitors.
• USB A 3.1 (10Gbps): High-speed data transfer for external drives or other USB 3.1 devices.
• USB C 3.1 (10Gbps): High-speed data transfer for USB-C devices.
• Ethernet (1Gbps): RJ45 port for wired network connection.

4. Setup Instructions

The MOKiN docking station is designed for plug-and-play functionality, requiring no additional driver installation for most operating systems.

1. Connect to Laptop: Connect the integrated USB-C cable from the docking station to a fully functional USB-C port on your laptop. Ensure your laptop's USB-C port supports video output (DisplayPort Alternate Mode) and power delivery for full functionality.
2. Connect Power (Optional but Recommended): For optimal performance and to charge your laptop, connect your laptop's USB-C power adapter (up to 100W) to the PD-IN port on the docking station. This will provide up to 85W pass-through charging to your laptop.

3. Connect Monitors: Connect your external monitors to the HDMI, DisplayPort, and/or VGA ports on the docking station using appropriate cables.
4. Connect Peripherals: Connect your USB devices (keyboard, mouse, external hard drives, etc.) to the available USB-A and USB-C data ports.
5. Connect Network: For a stable wired internet connection, connect an Ethernet cable from your router/modem to the Ethernet port on the docking station.

6. Insert Memory Cards: If needed, insert SD or microSD cards into the corresponding slots.

Important Compatibility Note: This docking station is only applicable to laptops with fully functional USB-C ports, Thunderbolt 3/4, or USB4 ports. Ports that only support data transfer or charging will not provide full display output functionality.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Display Modes

The docking station supports various display configurations depending on your operating system.

Windows System (MST & SST Support)

Windows systems support both Multi-Stream Transport (MST) for extended displays and Single-Stream Transport (SST) for mirrored displays. The HDMI and DisplayPort outputs support up to 4K@60Hz (with DP1.4 source).

Extend Mode: Each connected monitor can display independent content, expanding your desktop workspace. For example, with DP1.4, you can achieve configurations like HDMI1+HDMI2+DP for three 4K@30Hz displays, or HDMI1+HDMI2+DP+VGA for one 4K@60Hz, one 4K@30Hz, and two 1080P@30Hz displays (laptop screen off).

Mirror Mode: All connected external monitors display the same content as your laptop screen.

macOS System (Limited Extend Support)

macOS systems have limitations on extended displays. They can only extend one external monitor, while other external monitors will mirror each other. The primary external monitor can achieve 4K@60Hz.

5.2 Data Transfer

Utilize the USB 3.1 A and C ports for high-speed data transfer up to 10Gbps. The SD and TF card slots allow for quick access to memory card content.

5.3 Network Connection

The Gigabit Ethernet port provides a reliable and fast wired network connection, ideal for stable internet access and large file transfers.

6. Maintenance

• Keep the docking station clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth.
• Avoid exposing the device to liquids, extreme temperatures, or direct sunlight.
• Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself. Contact support if service is required.
• Store the docking station in a cool, dry place when not in use.

7. Troubleshooting

• No Display Output:
  • Ensure your laptop's USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode. Refer to your laptop's specifications.
  • Check all cable connections between the docking station, monitors, and laptop.
  • Verify monitor input sources are correctly selected.
  • Adjust display settings in your operating system (e.g., Windows Display Settings, macOS System Settings > Displays).
  • For macOS, remember only one external monitor can be extended; others will mirror.
• Laptop Not Charging:
  • Ensure your power adapter is connected to the PD-IN port on the docking station.
  • Verify your power adapter is a USB-C Power Delivery charger (100W recommended for 85W output).
  • Confirm your laptop's USB-C port supports Power Delivery input.
• USB Devices Not Working:
  • Ensure the docking station is securely connected to your laptop.
  • Try connecting the USB device directly to your laptop to rule out device issues.
  • Some high-power USB devices may require external power or a direct connection to the laptop.
• No Ethernet Connection:
  • Check the Ethernet cable connection to both the docking station and your router/modem.
  • Verify network settings on your laptop.
  • Ensure your laptop's USB-C port supports Ethernet functionality through the docking station.
• Intermittent Connections:
  • Ensure the USB-C connection to your laptop is firm and stable. A loose connection can cause intermittent issues.
  • Avoid excessive bending or strain on the integrated USB-C cable.
