4. Setup

4.1 Mounting the Scope

  1. Secure Rings: Attach the provided scope rings to your rifle's mounting base according to the ring manufacturer's instructions. Ensure they are tightened securely.
  2. Position Scope: Place the scope into the bottom halves of the rings. Adjust the scope's position forward or backward to achieve proper eye relief. Eye relief is the distance between your eye and the eyepiece lens when you have a full, clear field of view.
  3. Level Reticle: Rotate the scope within the rings until the reticle is perfectly level. Use the included scope level for precise alignment.
  4. Tighten Rings: Install the top halves of the rings and tighten the screws evenly and gradually, alternating between screws to ensure even pressure. Do not overtighten.

4.2 Focusing the Eyepiece (Diopter Adjustment)

The eyepiece diopter adjustment ensures a sharp reticle image for your individual vision.

  1. Point the scope at a plain, bright background (e.g., a clear sky or a blank wall).
  2. Look through the scope and quickly glance at the reticle. If the reticle appears blurry, rotate the eyepiece adjustment ring until the reticle is crisp and sharp.
  3. Once set, avoid further adjustment unless your vision changes.

4.3 Parallax Adjustment (Side Focus)

Parallax is the apparent movement of the reticle relative to the target when your eye moves. The SFIR (Side Focus Infrared) knob on the left side of the scope adjusts for parallax.

  1. While looking through the scope, rotate the side focus knob until the target image appears sharp and clear.
  2. To check for parallax, move your head slightly up and down or side to side. If the reticle appears to shift relative to the target, adjust the side focus knob until no shift is observed.
  3. Adjust parallax for each specific target distance to ensure maximum accuracy.

4.4 Zeroing the Scope

Zeroing aligns the point of impact with your point of aim at a specific distance.

  1. Initial Setup: Secure your rifle in a stable rest. Set up a target at your desired zeroing distance (e.g., 100 yards).
  2. Fire a Group: Fire a three-shot group at the center of the target.
  3. Adjust Windage and Elevation: Observe the point of impact relative to your aim point.
    • The elevation turret (top) adjusts vertical impact. Turn UP to move impact up, DOWN to move impact down.
    • The windage turret (right) adjusts horizontal impact. Turn R (Right) to move impact right, L (Left) to move impact left.
    • Each click of the turret adjusts the point of impact by 1/4 MOA. Consult a ballistic calculator or a MOA conversion chart to determine the number of clicks needed for your specific distance.
  4. Repeat: Fire another group and make further adjustments until your shots consistently hit the desired aim point.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Magnification Adjustment

The magnification ring is located at the front of the eyepiece. Rotate this ring to adjust the magnification from 6x to 24x. The numbers on the ring indicate the current magnification setting.

5.2 Reticle Illumination

The illumination control knob is integrated into the side focus turret. It features 6 levels of red illumination.

  1. Rotate the illumination knob to turn the reticle illumination ON.
  2. Continue rotating to cycle through the 6 brightness settings.
  3. Rotate back to the 'OFF' position to conserve battery life when illumination is not needed.

5.3 Windage and Elevation Turrets

The windage and elevation turrets are used for precise adjustments to the point of impact. They feature audible and tactile 1/4 MOA clicks.

  • Elevation Turret (Top): Adjusts vertical point of impact.
  • Windage Turret (Right): Adjusts horizontal point of impact.

After zeroing, these turrets can be used for holdovers or dialing in adjustments for different distances or wind conditions.

5.4 First Focal Plane (FFP) Reticle Functionality

The FFP reticle maintains its subtension values relative to the target across all magnification settings. This means that any holdover or ranging marks on the reticle will be accurate at 6x, 24x, and every magnification in between. This eliminates the need for recalculations when changing magnification, simplifying complex shots.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning Lenses

Always use the provided cleaning cloth or a high-quality lens cleaning kit. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

  1. Gently brush off any loose dust or debris from the lens surfaces.
  2. Apply a small amount of lens cleaning solution (if using) to the cleaning cloth, not directly to the lens.
  3. Wipe the lenses gently in a circular motion until clean and streak-free.

6.2 Cleaning the Scope Body

Wipe the exterior of the scope with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, a mild soap solution can be used, followed by wiping with a clean, damp cloth. Ensure all moisture is removed before storage.

6.3 Storage

Store your scope in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use lens caps to protect the objective and eyepiece lenses when not in use. If storing for extended periods, remove the battery from the illumination module.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Blurry Image or Reticle

  • Reticle Blurry: Adjust the eyepiece diopter (Section 4.2).
  • Target Blurry: Adjust the side focus (parallax) knob for the specific target distance (Section 4.3).
  • Overall Blurry: Ensure lenses are clean (Section 6.1).

7.2 Reticle Illumination Not Working

  • Check if the illumination knob is turned to an 'ON' setting.
  • Verify the battery is correctly installed with the correct polarity.
  • Replace the battery with a fresh one.

7.3 Inaccurate Shots or Zero Shift

  • Ensure the scope rings are securely tightened to the rifle and the scope itself (Section 4.1).
  • Re-check your zeroing procedure (Section 4.4).
  • Confirm parallax is correctly adjusted for the target distance (Section 4.3).
  • Check for any loose components on the rifle or scope.
