3. Installation Guide
This section outlines the general steps for installing the JOYING car stereo. Professional installation is recommended if you are unfamiliar with car audio systems.
3.1. Preparation
- Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off and disconnect the negative terminal of the car battery to prevent electrical shorts.
- Gather necessary tools: plastic trim removal tool, screwdriver set.
3.2. Removing the Factory Radio
- Using a plastic trim removal tool, carefully pry off the decorative panel surrounding the factory radio. Start from the edges and work your way around.
- Once the decorative panel is loose, remove any fixing screws holding the factory radio in place.
- Gently pull out the factory radio from the dashboard.
- Disconnect all wiring harnesses and antenna cables from the back of the factory radio.

3.3. Preparing the New Head Unit
- If your new head unit requires the original air vents, carefully remove them from the factory decorative panel and install them into the new frame kit.
- Connect the provided power cable harness to the corresponding socket on the back of the JOYING head unit.
- Connect the GPS antenna, WiFi antennas, 4G antennas, and USB cables to their respective ports on the head unit.
- If installing a reverse camera, connect the reversing image video cable and the reversing image detection line.

4. Setup and Initial Configuration
4.1. Power On and Initial Boot
Reconnect the negative terminal of the car battery. Turn on the vehicle's ignition. The head unit should power on and display the Android operating system.
4.2. Network Connectivity (5G WiFi & 4G Module)
- WiFi: Navigate to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi. Select your desired WiFi network and enter the password to connect. The unit supports dual WiFi bands (2.4 & 5G & 6 GHz).
- 4G Module: Insert a compatible SIM card into the designated slot for mobile internet access. Note that the unit does not support making phone calls or sending SMS via the SIM card.
