3. Setup
3.1 Battery Installation
The water flow meter requires a battery for operation. To install or replace the battery, carefully open the battery compartment. Ensure your hands are dry. Insert a new battery, observing the correct polarity, then securely close the compartment.
3.2 Connecting the Meter
- Identify the inlet and outlet of the flow meter. The flow direction is indicated by an arrow on the device.
- Connect the brass inlet of the flow meter to your water source (e.g., outdoor faucet, spigot). The 360° swivel pure brass inlet allows for easy attachment.
- Attach your garden hose, RV water hose, or other watering equipment to the outlet of the flow meter.
- Ensure all connections are hand-tight to prevent leaks.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off
The LCD screen will automatically activate when water flows through the meter. It will enter sleep mode after 1 minute of inactivity.
4.2 Changing Measurement Modes
Short press the control button to cycle through the four measurement modes:
- Flow Mode: Displays the real-time water flow rate (e.g., GAL/Min or LPM).
- Consumption Mode: Shows the water usage from the last single watering session.
- Average Mode: Displays the daily average water consumption over the last 7 days (starts counting from the next day after initial use).
- Total Mode: Shows the cumulative total water consumption since the meter was last reset.

Figure 5: Overview of the 4 measurement modes.
4.3 Unit Conversion (Gallon/Liter)
While in Flow Mode, long press the control button to switch the measurement unit between US gallons (GAL) and liters (L).

4.4 Resetting Data
While in Consumption Mode, Average Mode, or Total Mode, long press the control button to reset the displayed data for that specific mode to zero.
4.5 Optimal Flow Rate
For the most accurate meter readings, adjust the faucet to a moderate flow rate. It is not necessary to turn the faucet to its maximum setting. The measurable flow rate ranges from 0.3 to 12 GPM (1 to 45.5 LPM).
5. Maintenance
5.1 Filter Washer
The meter includes a metal filter washer to prevent debris from entering. Regularly inspect and clean or replace the filter washer to maintain accurate readings and prevent blockages.

5.2 Battery Replacement
When the low battery indication appears on the LCD screen, replace the battery promptly. Ensure the battery compartment remains dry during replacement.

5.3 Condensation
If condensation appears on the LCD screen, leave the meter under direct sunlight for a period of time. The fog should dissipate naturally.
6. Troubleshooting
Refer to the following common issues and their solutions:
6.1 Water Measurement is Not Correct
- Ensure the counting unit (liter/gallon) is correctly set.
- Maximize the faucet water flow to be greater than 1 GAL/MIN (or 3.8 LPM) for accurate readings.
- Reset the TOTAL mode and use the TOTAL mode to measure the water flow for cumulative accuracy.
6.2 LCD Screen Does Not Work Properly or Does Not Count
- Check if the filter washer is clogged with debris. Clean or replace if necessary.
- Inspect the flywheel inside the meter. Check if stones or dirt block the flywheel, or if the flywheel itself is damaged. If blocked, invert the water flow meter and flush the outlet to clear debris.
6.3 LCD Screen is Dead
- Replace the battery with a brand-new one. Ensure it is installed with the correct direction/polarity.
- DO NOT moisten the battery or the battery compartment. Keep your hands dry during replacement.
6.4 Water is Leaking
- Check if the filter washer is clean and undamaged. Replace if worn.
- Ensure the filter washer is correctly in place within the connection.
- Tighten all connections by hand. Avoid overtightening.
- Verify that your faucet thread is a standard 3/4" NH thread for proper compatibility.
6.5 Water Pressure is Restricted
- Clean or replace the filter washer regularly to prevent buildup.
- Check if stones or dirt block the flywheel. If so, invert the water flow meter and flush the outlet to clear the obstruction.
