1. Product Overview

The Godox V1Mid-N is a high-performance TTL speedlite speedlight designed for Nikon cameras. 3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the included lithium battery. Connect the USB-C charging cable to the flash unit and then to the provided adapter or a compatible USB power source. The charging indicator will show the charging status.

3.2 Mounting to Camera

  1. Ensure your Nikon camera is powered off.
  2. Slide the V1Mid-N flash unit onto your camera's hotshoe mount until it clicks into place.
  3. Tighten the locking mechanism on the flash unit to secure it firmly to the hotshoe.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

Press and hold the power button located on the side of the flash unit to turn it on or off.

4.2 Navigating the Touchscreen Interface

The V1Mid-N features an intuitive touchscreen for quick adjustments. Tap icons to select modes, and swipe or tap to change settings such as flash power, zoom, and wireless channels.

4.3 Flash Modes and Synchronization

The V1Mid-N supports various flash modes to suit your photographic needs:

  • TTL (Through-The-Lens) Mode: Automatically adjusts flash output for correct exposure.
  • Manual Mode: Allows precise control over flash power output.
  • Multi Mode: Fires a series of rapid flashes for creative effects.
  • High-Speed Sync (HSS): Enables flash synchronization at shutter speeds faster than the camera's native sync speed, up to 1/8000s.
  • First-Curtain Sync: Flash fires immediately after the shutter opens.
  • Rear-Curtain Sync: Flash fires just before the shutter closes, creating motion trails behind moving subjects.

4.4 Wireless Operation (2.4G System)

The V1Mid-N integrates a 2.4G wireless system for off-camera flash control. Refer to your camera's manual and the V1Mid-N's on-screen menu for pairing instructions with compatible Godox wireless triggers.

4.5 Optical System and Light Shaping

The V1Mid-N's optical system provides even and natural light. It is fully compatible with the AK-R1 Round Head Accessory Kit and, when paired with the S3 Speedlite Bracket, supports Bowens-mount modifiers for extensive light shaping possibilities.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To clean the flash unit, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

5.2 Battery Care

Store the lithium battery in a cool, dry place. If not used for extended periods, charge the battery periodically to maintain its health. Do not expose the battery to extreme temperatures or physical damage.

5.3 Storage

When not in use, store the V1Mid-N in its protective storage bag in a dry, dust-free environment. Remove the battery if storing for a very long duration.

  • Flash not firing: Check battery level, ensure flash is securely mounted to the camera hotshoe, and verify camera flash settings.
  • Inconsistent flash output: Ensure flash head is clean, check for proper TTL or manual power settings, and verify ambient light conditions.
  • Wireless connection issues: Confirm both flash and trigger are on the same channel and group, ensure they are within range, and check for interference.
  • Battery not charging: Verify USB-C cable and adapter connections, try a different USB power source, and ensure the battery is correctly inserted.
