Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the iCarsoft LR V4.0 Full System Bidirectional Diagnostic Scan Tool. Note: Use your existing USB-C charger (5V/2A recommended) or a computer's USB port for charging. A dedicated charger is not included to reduce waste.

Setup

1. Charge the Device: Connect the USB-C cable to the diagnostic tool and a compatible 5V/2A USB charger or computer USB port. Ensure the device is fully charged before first use.
2. Power On: Press and hold the power button to turn on the device.
3. Initial Configuration: Follow the on-screen prompts to select your language, time zone, and connect to a Wi-Fi network for updates.
4. Software Update: Navigate to the "Update" section on the main menu. Connect to Wi-Fi and download the latest software for your device. This ensures access to the most current vehicle coverage and functions.
5. Download Vehicle Groups: The device comes pre-installed with software for Land Rover and Jaguar. You can download two additional vehicle groups from a selection of 26 available options. Once downloaded, these cannot be changed.

Operating Instructions

1. Connecting to the Vehicle

1. Locate the vehicle's OBD-II port, typically under the dashboard on the driver's side.
2. Connect the 16-pin OBD2 Main Cable to the vehicle's OBD-II port and to the iCarsoft LR V4.0 device.
3. Turn the vehicle's ignition to the "ON" position (engine off).
4. The device will automatically power on and attempt to establish communication with the vehicle.

2. Full System Diagnostics

The LR V4.0 can perform in-depth diagnostics on all vehicle systems, including Engine, ABS, Airbags, Transmission, and more complex systems. This function allows you to:

• Read and Clear Fault Codes: Identify and erase Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from various control modules.
• Read ECU Information: Retrieve detailed information about the Electronic Control Units.
• Read Live Data: View real-time data streams from vehicle sensors and components in text or graph format (up to 118 data streams).
• Freeze Frame Data: Capture a snapshot of vehicle conditions when a fault code was set.

Troubleshooting

Device does not power on:

Ensure the device is fully charged. Connect it to a power source using the USB-C cable. If connected to the vehicle, ensure the vehicle's ignition is in the "ON" position.

Communication error with vehicle:

• Verify the OBD2 cable is securely connected to both the device and the vehicle's OBD-II port.
• Ensure the vehicle's ignition is "ON" (engine off).
• Check if the vehicle is OBD2 compliant (most vehicles manufactured after 1996 in the US, 2001 in Europe for gasoline, 2004 for diesel).
• Try the device on a different compatible vehicle to rule out a vehicle-specific issue.
