Setup Instructions
Step 1: Choose Your Mounting Option
The monTEK Monitor Arm offers two installation methods: C-Clamp (desk edge) or Grommet Mount (through a desk hole).
Option A: C-Clamp Installation
- Attach the C-clamp bracket to the main pole of the monitor arm using the provided screws.
- Position the C-clamp on the edge of your desk. Ensure the desk thickness is compatible with the clamp's range.
- Tighten the C-clamp screw firmly until the arm is securely attached to the desk. Do not overtighten.

Option B: Grommet Mount Installation
- If your desk has a grommet hole, insert the main pole through the hole. If not, you may need to drill a hole (consult a professional if unsure).
- Place the grommet plate on the underside of the desk, aligning it with the pole.
- Secure the grommet plate to the pole using the provided washer and nut. Tighten firmly.

Step 2: Attach the Monitor to the VESA Plate
The monitor arm supports VESA mounting patterns, typically 75x75mm and 100x100mm.
- Carefully lay your monitor face down on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches.
- Align the VESA plate with the mounting holes on the back of your monitor.
- Secure the VESA plate to the monitor using the appropriate screws and washers from the hardware kit. Do not overtighten.

Step 3: Mount the Monitor to the Arm
- With assistance if needed, carefully lift the monitor (with the VESA plate attached) and slide it onto the VESA head of the monitor arm.
- Ensure the monitor is securely seated on the arm.
Step 4: Adjust Arm Tension
The arm's tension needs to be adjusted to match the weight of your monitor. This ensures the monitor stays in place at any height.
- Use the provided hex key to adjust the tension screw located on the arm joint.
- Turn clockwise to increase tension for heavier monitors.
- Turn counter-clockwise to decrease tension for lighter monitors.
- Adjust until the monitor can be moved easily but stays in its desired position when released.

Step 5: Cable Management
Route your monitor cables through the integrated cable management clips or covers on the arm to maintain a tidy workspace.

Operating Instructions
Once installed and adjusted, your monTEK Monitor Arm allows for flexible positioning of your display.
- Height Adjustment: Gently push or pull the monitor up or down to achieve the desired viewing height.
- Tilt Adjustment: Tilt the monitor screen up or down to reduce glare and optimize your viewing angle.
- Swivel Adjustment: Rotate the monitor arm left or right to share your screen or change your viewing direction.
- Rotation (Portrait/Landscape): Rotate the monitor 360 degrees to switch between landscape and portrait orientations.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your monitor arm.
- Cleaning: Wipe the arm with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Fastener Check: Periodically (e.g., every 3-6 months) check all screws and bolts to ensure they are tight. Retighten if any looseness is detected.
- Tension Adjustment: If your monitor begins to sag or does not hold its position, re-adjust the arm tension as described in the Setup section.
Troubleshooting
Monitor Sags or Does Not Hold Position:
This is typically due to insufficient tension for the monitor's weight.
- Solution: Increase the arm tension by turning the adjustment screw clockwise with the provided hex key. Continue adjusting until the monitor stays in place.
Arm is Difficult to Move:
The tension might be too high for your monitor's weight.
- Solution: Decrease the arm tension by turning the adjustment screw counter-clockwise.
Monitor is Not Level:
This can occur if the VESA plate is not perfectly aligned or if the arm's head is slightly off-kilter.
- Solution: Check the VESA plate attachment to the monitor. Some VESA heads also have a small leveling screw; consult the diagram if available.
