1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the FIREGAS 7400W 4-Zone Induction Hob. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of your new appliance. Please read it thoroughly before use and keep it for future reference.

2. Safety Instructions

To ensure safe operation, please observe the following precautions:

  • Electrical Connection: The hob requires a dedicated electrical connection. For the 7400W model, this typically means a 2x16A or 1x32A circuit. Incorrect wiring can be dangerous. Consult a qualified electrician for installation.
  • Child Safety Lock: Activate the child safety lock to prevent accidental operation by children.
  • Automatic Shut-off: The hob features an automatic shut-off function for safety. Cooking zones will turn off after a set period if no operation is detected.
  • Residual Heat Indicator: An indicator will illuminate to warn you if a cooking zone is still hot after use. Avoid touching hot surfaces.
  • Overheat Protection: The hob is equipped with overheat protection to prevent damage from excessive temperatures.
  • Pot Detection: The hob will only activate when suitable magnetic cookware is placed on a cooking zone.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation space around and beneath the hob to prevent overheating. Do not obstruct the air vents.
  • Do not place metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons, or lids on the hob surface as they can become hot.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers to clean the hob surface, as they can scratch the glass.

4. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the performance and safety of your induction hob. It can be installed as a drop-in unit or placed on a countertop.

4.1 Dimensions and Cut-out

  • Product Dimensions (L x W x H): 590 mm x 520 mm x 53.8 mm
  • Cut-out Dimensions (L x W): 558 mm x 488 mm

4.2 Electrical Connection

The hob requires a fixed wired connection. It is designed for a 220V-240V electrical supply. For the 7400W total power, it requires a connection to two separate 16A phases or a single 32A circuit. This connection must be performed by a qualified electrician.

4.3 Ventilation

Ensure that there is sufficient space for air circulation beneath and around the hob. The hob features advanced rear ventilation. Do not block the ventilation openings to prevent overheating and ensure optimal performance.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your hob, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Hob Not Turning On:
    • Check the main power supply and circuit breaker.
    • Ensure the hob is correctly wired to a 2x16A or 1x32A circuit.
    • Verify that the child lock is not activated.
  • Cooking Zone Not Heating:
    • Ensure compatible magnetic cookware is placed correctly on the zone.
    • Check if the pot detection sensor is clean and unobstructed.
  • Unusual Noise (Humming/Fan Noise):
    • A low humming sound is normal during induction cooking, especially at higher power settings.
    • The cooling fans will operate during and after cooking, particularly at high power, to dissipate heat. This is normal and may continue for a few minutes after the hob is turned off.
  • Hob Shuts Off Unexpectedly:
    • This could be due to the automatic shut-off safety feature or overheat protection. Allow the hob to cool down.
    • Ensure no objects (like a cloth or utensil) are covering the control panel, which can trigger safety features.
  • Error Codes: If an error code appears on the display, consult the specific error code section in the full user manual (if available) or contact customer support.
