Setup and Operation

  1. Adjusting Positioning Blocks: Loosen the knobs on the positioning blocks. Slide the blocks along the ruler to the desired measurement. Tighten the knobs to secure the blocks in place. These blocks assist in repetitive marking, drilling, or nailing tasks.
  2. Using Drill Hole Locators: For precise drilling, align the 4.5mm drill hole locators with your desired drilling points. The ruler's design allows for accurate alignment for single or double holes, useful for cabinet handles or drawer pulls.
  3. Marking and Line Drawing: Utilize the 3mm line drawing hole for accurate pencil marking. The ruler's clear scales (both imperial and metric) ensure precise measurements.
  4. Leveling with Dual-Axis Bubble Levels: The integrated bubble levels assist in ensuring horizontal and vertical alignment. Before marking or drilling, check the bubble levels to confirm the ruler is perfectly level or plumb, especially for installation tasks on uneven surfaces.
  5. Angle Adjustment: The central angle adjustment knob allows for setting specific angles, enhancing versatility for various woodworking layouts.

Safety Instructions

Always prioritize safety when operating power tools. Read and understand all instructions before use.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety glasses, gloves, and appropriate clothing. Hearing protection is recommended.
  • Work Area: Ensure the work area is clear of bystanders, pets, and obstacles. Be aware of your surroundings, especially overhead power lines.
  • Battery Safety: Use only the provided Saker batteries and charger. Do not expose batteries to extreme temperatures or moisture.
  • Starting Procedure: To start the saw, press and hold the safety lock switch, then press the trigger switch. Release the safety switch after the saw powers on. This prevents accidental startup.
  • Secure Grip: Always maintain a firm grip on the saw with both hands during operation.
  • Avoid Overreaching: Do not overreach or stand on unstable surfaces when using the pole saw. Maintain proper footing and balance.
  • Inspect Before Use: Before each use, inspect the saw chain for sharpness and tension, and check for any damaged parts.

Setup

  1. Battery Charging: Fully charge both 22V 4.0Ah batteries before first use. Connect the charger to a power outlet and insert the battery. The indicator light will show charging status.
  2. Battery Installation: Slide a charged battery into the battery slot on the chainsaw head or the pole saw handle until it clicks into place.
  3. Chainsaw Head Assembly:
    • Ensure the chain is correctly seated around the guide bar and sprocket.
    • Install the guide bar and chain onto the chainsaw head.
    • Adjust chain tension: The chain should be snug but still able to be pulled freely around the guide bar by hand. Refer to the specific tensioning mechanism on your saw.
    • Secure the chain cover.
  4. Pole Saw Assembly (2-in-1 Design):
    • To use as a pole saw, attach the mini chainsaw head to the telescopic extension pole. Align the connectors and secure with the locking mechanism (e.g., a locking knob or quick-release button).
    • Adjust the pole length by extending or retracting the telescopic sections. Secure the pole at the desired length using the locking clamps. The pole offers an expansion range of approximately 4.27ft to 7.55ft.

Operation

The Saker 2-in-1 Electric Pole Saw can be used in two configurations:

  • Handheld Mini Chainsaw Mode: For ground-level cutting, small logs, or brush clearing. Hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands. Engage the safety switch and trigger to start.
  • Pole Saw Mode: For trimming high branches.
    • Extension: Adjust the pole to the appropriate length for the branch you intend to cut, ensuring you maintain a safe distance and stable footing.
    • Angle Adjustment: The chainsaw head can rotate up to 180 degrees, allowing you to adjust the cutting angle for optimal reach and efficiency. Use the locking knob to secure the head at the desired angle.
    • Cutting Technique: Position the saw blade against the branch. Start the saw and allow the chain to reach full speed before making contact. Use a steady, controlled motion. Avoid forcing the saw. Make relief cuts for larger branches to prevent pinching.

Maintenance (Pole Saw)

  • Chain Lubrication: Regularly apply chain oil to the saw chain to ensure smooth operation and extend chain life. Check the oil reservoir (if present) or manually lubricate as per saw design.
  • Chain Sharpening: A dull chain reduces cutting efficiency and increases kickback risk. Sharpen the chain regularly or replace it when necessary.
  • Cleaning: After each use, remove the battery and clean the chainsaw head, guide bar, and chain. Clear sawdust and debris from vents and moving parts.
  • Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Do not store fully discharged. Charge them periodically if not used for extended periods.
  • Storage: Store the pole saw in a secure, dry location, out of reach of children. Disassemble the pole if preferred for compact storage.
