1. Setup
1.1 Package Contents

1.2 Initial Power On
- Press and hold the power button located on the side of the tablet until the screen lights up.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to select your language and region.
1.3 Connecting to Wi-Fi
- From the home screen, swipe down from the top to open the Quick Settings panel.
- Tap the Wi-Fi icon to enable Wi-Fi.
- Select your desired Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the password if prompted.
1.4 Google Account Setup
To access Google Play Store and other Google services, sign in with your Google account or create a new one when prompted during the initial setup or via the Settings app.
1.5 Wacom EMR Pen Usage
The included Wacom EMR pen does not require charging or Bluetooth pairing. It is ready to use immediately upon contact with the screen. The pen offers 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and tilt detection for a natural writing and drawing experience.

1.6 Protective Case Functionality
The included protective case features a Hall sensor. Opening the case will automatically wake the screen, allowing you to start writing immediately. Closing the case will automatically lock the screen, conserving power and protecting your privacy.

2.1 Basic Navigation and Android 15
The Plimpton Paper8 runs on the latest Android 15 system, providing an intuitive and efficient user experience. Navigate using touch gestures: swipe to scroll, pinch to zoom, and tap to select.
2.2 Using the Wacom EMR Pen for Notes and Drawing
The Wacom EMR pen provides a paper-like writing feel. Utilize it for quick memos, detailed illustrations, or annotating documents. The 4096 pressure levels and tilt detection ensure precise and natural input. Popular apps like Clip Studio Paint and ibisPaint are compatible and available for download from Google Play.

2.3 Display Modes: Black & White and Color
The tablet features a special AG (anti-glare) soft-light processing panel that reduces reflections and eye strain during prolonged use. It supports both a Black & White Reading Mode and a vibrant Color Mode. By default, the screen may display in Black & White. To switch to Color Mode, simply turn off the "Reading Mode" setting in the device's settings. This allows you to optimize the display for reading text or viewing colorful diagrams and images.

2.4 Gemini AI Integration
The latest Google Gemini AI is deeply integrated into the system, supporting voice search, AI notes, translation, and smart organization features. This assists in various scenarios including work, study, and daily life. In split-screen mode, you can use note-taking apps (e.g., Wacom Notes) alongside the Gemini AI assistant. During meetings, the AI assistant can record audio and analyze content in real-time to organize notes. For study, it can provide instant Q&A.

2.5 Camera Functionality
The tablet is equipped with a 13-megapixel main rear camera. This allows for daily photography and document scanning. You can quickly scan paper documents and convert them into electronic files. Printed and handwritten text can be converted into editable text with one click. PDF documents can be easily viewed and edited (using Google's scanning app).

2.6 Versatile Applications
The Plimpton Paper8 supports a wide range of uses including writing, drawing, learning tools, office drafts, and meeting notes. 3. Maintenance
3.1 Screen Cleaning
To clean the AG anti-glare screen, use a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-safe cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the screen coating.
3.2 Wacom EMR Pen Nib Replacement
If the pen nib becomes worn, it can be replaced. Use the included nib remover tool to gently pull out the old nib. Insert a new replacement nib firmly until it clicks into place. Two soft replacement nibs are included in the package.
3.3 Battery Care
To prolong battery life, avoid exposing the tablet to extreme temperatures. For long-term storage, charge the battery to approximately 50% and store it in a cool, dry place. The Wacom EMR pen does not require battery charging.
4. Troubleshooting
4.1 Device Not Powering On
- Ensure the tablet is sufficiently charged. Connect it to the power adapter and wait a few minutes before attempting to power it on again.
- Press and hold the power button for at least 10-15 seconds to perform a forced restart.
4.2 Pen Not Responding
- Check if the pen nib is properly inserted. If it's loose or worn, replace it with a new one.
- Ensure there are no foreign objects or debris on the screen or pen tip.
- Restart the tablet.
4.3 Wi-Fi Connection Issues
- Verify that your Wi-Fi router is working correctly and other devices can connect.
- Restart the tablet and your Wi-Fi router.
- Forget the network in Wi-Fi settings and reconnect.
4.4 Screen Display Problems (e.g., Black & White)
- If the screen is stuck in black and white, navigate to Settings and ensure "Reading Mode" is turned off.
- Adjust the brightness settings in Quick Settings or Display settings.
