4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

Wipe the scanner's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure no liquid enters the device.

4.2 Storage

Store the scanner in a dry, cool environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep it protected from dust and physical impact.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Scanner does not power on: Ensure the OBD2 cable is securely connected to the vehicle's diagnostic port and the vehicle's ignition is in the ON position. Check the vehicle's battery for sufficient charge.
  • Connection Failure (Yellow Indicator Light): Verify that your vehicle is OBD2 compliant and that the connection is secure. Some older vehicles or specific models may not be fully compatible. Refer to the compatibility section (2.3).
  • No communication with vehicle: Check the vehicle's fuse for the OBD2 port. Try the scanner on another compatible vehicle to rule out scanner malfunction.
  • Error messages: Note down any error codes or messages displayed on the screen and refer to the DTC Lookup function or consult your vehicle's service manual.
  • Limited Functionality: The V601 does not support ABS, SRS, or TPMS detection. For diesel vehicles, verify protocol compatibility as some older models may not comply with OBD2.
