4. Setup
4.1 Mounting the Scope
Proper mounting is crucial for accuracy and consistent performance. Use the included 34mm high-profile Picatinny rings.
- Ensure the firearm is unloaded and safe.
- Attach the scope rings to your Picatinny rail, ensuring proper eye relief for your shooting position.
- Place the scope into the bottom halves of the rings.
- Install the top halves of the rings, tightening the screws evenly. Refer to the torque specifications provided on the rings (e.g., 65 in-lb for cross bolts, 25 in-lb for top cap screws) to prevent damage.
- Use the included leveling kit to ensure the reticle is perfectly level with the firearm.
4.2 Initial Zeroing
After mounting, an initial zeroing process is recommended before live firing.
- Use a bore-sighting device or visually bore-sight the scope at a short distance (e.g., 25 yards).
- Adjust the elevation and windage turrets to align the reticle with the bore-sighted point.
- Proceed to a shooting range for fine-tuning at your desired zero distance (e.g., 100 yards).
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Magnification Adjustment
The scope features a 4-16x magnification range. Rotate the magnification ring, typically located near the eyepiece, to adjust the zoom level. The integrated throw lever assists in quick adjustments.
5.2 Reticle Illumination
The reticle offers 6 levels of illumination for optimal visibility in various lighting conditions. The illumination control is usually integrated with the parallax knob or a separate dial.
Video 5.1: Demonstration of reticle illumination adjustment on a Vector Optics scope. Twist the knob to brighten or reduce the illumination.
5.3 Parallax Adjustment
The side focus knob adjusts parallax, eliminating apparent movement between the reticle and the target. Adjust the parallax from 10 yards to infinity until the target and reticle appear sharp and in the same focal plane.
5.4 Elevation and Windage Turrets
The scope features exposed elevation and capped windage turrets with 1/4 MOA per click adjustments.

Figure 5.1: Detailed view of the elevation and windage turrets, highlighting the zero stop and revolution counter features.
- Elevation Turret: The exposed elevation turret allows for quick vertical adjustments. It includes a revolution counter to track the number of full rotations, ensuring you know your exact dial-up.
- Zero-Stop: To set the zero stop, loosen the top cap of the elevation turret, rotate the inner mechanism to your desired zero, and then re-tighten the cap. This prevents dialing below your established zero.
- Windage Turret: The windage turret is capped to prevent accidental adjustments. Remove the cap to make horizontal adjustments.
5.5 Reticle (VTA-4 MOA)
The VTA-4 MOA reticle is a First Focal Plane (FFP) design, meaning its subtensions remain accurate across all magnification settings. This allows for precise rangefinding, ballistic holdovers, and windage corrections.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning the Lenses
To maintain optical clarity, regularly clean the objective and ocular lenses.
- Use the brush end of the lens pen to gently remove any loose dust or debris.
- Use the chamois cloth or the felt pad of the lens pen to wipe the lens surfaces in a circular motion.
- For stubborn smudges, breathe lightly on the lens to create condensation before wiping. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
6.2 General Care and Storage
- Keep the scope protected with the included lens caps when not in use.
- Store the scope in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Periodically check all mounting screws for tightness to ensure the scope remains securely mounted.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your scope, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unclear or blurry image | Improper parallax adjustment, dirty lenses, incorrect diopter setting | Adjust parallax, clean lenses, adjust diopter for your eye. |
| Reticle not illuminating | Battery low or dead, illumination dial off or faulty | Replace CR2032 battery, check illumination dial settings. |
| Point of impact shift | Loose mounting, scope damage, inconsistent shooting technique | Check and tighten scope rings to specified torque, inspect for damage, ensure consistent shooting form. |
| Turrets not adjusting or stiff | Debris, cold weather, internal issue | Clean around turrets, allow scope to warm up, contact support if issue persists. |
