3.3 Solar Panel Placement Tips
- Ensure the solar panel is installed in a location that receives direct sunlight for several hours daily.
- Avoid shaded areas from trees, buildings, or other obstructions.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Solar Panel Care
- Regularly wipe the solar panels to remove dust, dirt, or debris that may accumulate. This ensures optimal charging efficiency.
- Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
5.2 Battery Management
The camera features an "Auto-on After Charging" function. When the device's battery is depleted, it will automatically power on once sufficient charge is received from the solar panel or a direct power source, saving you the effort of manual restarts.

Figure 5.1: The 'Auto-on After Charging' feature ensures continuous operation after battery depletion and recharge.
5.3 Weather Resistance
The camera is rated IP65 for splash, water, and dust resistance. While designed for outdoor use, resistance may decrease over time due to normal wear. The charging interface uses a silicone waterproof protective plug; ensure it is properly sealed after charging.

Figure 5.2: The camera's IP65 weather resistance ensures durability against splash water and dust.
6. Troubleshooting
- Camera not charging via solar panel: Ensure the solar panel is placed in an area with direct sunlight. Check that the ambient temperature is within the optimal charging range (-10°C to 45°C / 14°F to 113°F). Below 0°C, solar charging efficiency is significantly reduced. Regularly clean the solar panel surface.
- No motion detection alerts: Verify that push notifications are enabled for the Vicohome app on your smartphone. Check the motion detection settings within the app, including sensitivity and activity zones.
- Poor Wi-Fi connection: Ensure the camera is within range of your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi router. The camera supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) for optimal coverage and stability.
- App not connecting to camera: Ensure the camera is powered on and its indicator light is behaving as expected (refer to the app for specific light patterns). Restart both the camera and your router. Re-add the device in the Vicohome app if necessary.
