Minimum and Recommended PC Requirements for Revopoint MetroX Pro

Figure 3: Minimum and Recommended PC Requirements for Revo Metro software.

  • macOS: CPU: M3 Pro/M4, RAM ≥ 18GB (Minimum); M4 Pro or better, RAM ≥ 24GB (Recommended).
  • Windows: CPU: Intel i7 13th Gen or AMD Ryzen 7 5800, RAM ≥ 32GB, GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (8GB) (Minimum); Intel i9 12th Gen or better, RAM ≥ 64GB, GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060 (8GB) or better (Recommended).
  • Note: If unsure about CPU configuration, ensure CPU has cores ≥ 8, threads ≥ 16, and a base frequency ≥ 2.4GHz. Dedicated graphics card is required for acceleration only in Laser Line Scanning modes. AMD and MAC GPUs do not currently support acceleration.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Scanning Modes

The MetroX Pro offers four distinct scanning modes to accommodate various object types and scanning requirements:

Four Scanning Modes of Revopoint MetroX Pro

Figure 4: Overview of the four scanning modes.

  1. 30 Cross-line Lasers: Ideal for efficiently capturing flat, shiny, or dark surfaces at up to 2 million points per second.
  2. 15 Parallel Lines: Used for capturing fine features, edges, and complex surfaces with enhanced detail.
  3. 62-line Full-field Blue Structured Light: Enables marker-free scans of feature-rich objects at up to 7 million points per second.
  4. Auto Turntable: Provides one-click automated scans for complex objects, including color-accurate scans using the HD RGB camera.

5.2 Tracking Modes

Select the appropriate tracking mode based on the object's characteristics:

  • Feature Tracking: Suitable for objects with rich surface details.
  • Marker Tracking: Best for flat surfaces or objects lacking distinct features, using physical markers.
  • Global Marker Mode: Enhances accuracy for complex shapes by utilizing a global marker system.

5.3 Scanning Dark or Shiny Surfaces

The MetroX Pro's blue laser modes allow direct scanning of dark or shiny surfaces without the need for scanning spray.
