Setup

1. Battery Installation

1. Ensure the walkie-talkie is powered off.
2. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.
3. Slide the cover downwards and remove it.
4. Insert the 1500 mAh Lithium Battery into the compartment, ensuring the contacts align correctly.
5. Replace the battery compartment cover and slide it upwards until it clicks into place.

2. Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the battery. The T22 features a modern USB-C charging port for convenience.

1. Connect the provided USB-C charging cable to the USB-C port on the side of the walkie-talkie.
2. Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to the USB-C adapter, a computer, a power bank, or a car charger.

4. A full charge provides approximately 24 hours of standby time.

3. Attaching the Belt Clip

1. Align the belt clip with the belt clip slot on the back of the walkie-talkie.
2. Push the clip firmly until it locks into place.
3. To remove, press the release tab on the clip and slide it off.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off and Volume Adjustment

1. To power on, rotate the Power/Volume Knob clockwise until you hear a click.
2. Continue rotating clockwise to increase the volume.
3. Rotate counter-clockwise to decrease the volume.
4. To power off, rotate the Power/Volume Knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click and the unit powers down.

2. Channel Selection

The BAOFENG T22 has 16 PMR446 channels. To communicate with another radio, both devices must be set to the same channel.

1. Rotate the Channel Selector Knob to choose your desired channel (1-16).
2. The radio will audibly announce the selected channel number.

3. Transmitting and Receiving (PTT)

1. To transmit, press and hold the PTT (Push-to-Talk) Button located on the side of the radio.
2. Speak clearly into the microphone, holding the radio approximately 5-10 cm from your mouth.
3. Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and return to receive mode.
4. When receiving a transmission, the signal indicator light will illuminate, and audio will be heard through the speaker.

4. VOX (Voice Operated Exchange) Function

The VOX function allows for hands-free operation, automatically transmitting when it detects your voice.
