Operating Instructions
Converting from Twin to King Size:
The MERITLINE Daybed is designed to expand from a twin size to an irregular king size. To convert:
- Ensure any mattresses on the twin bed are removed or adjusted to allow for expansion.
- Gently pull the trundle frame outwards from the main daybed structure. The frame will slide out, extending the sleeping surface.
- Once fully extended, the daybed will accommodate two twin-size thin mattresses side-by-side to form an irregular king-size sleeping area.
- To revert to twin size, push the trundle frame back into the main structure until it is fully nested.

Using the Storage Drawers:
The daybed includes two storage drawers for organizing clothes, books, and other items. These drawers can be pulled out independently, even when the trundle is extended.
- To open, gently pull the drawer handle outwards.
- To close, push the drawer back into its compartment until it is flush with the daybed frame.
- Avoid overloading the drawers to ensure smooth operation and prevent damage.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the wooden surfaces with a dry cloth. For stubborn marks, use a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. The product care instructions specify "Dry Clean Only" which refers to any fabric components; for the wooden frame, gentle wiping is appropriate.
- Hardware Check: Periodically inspect all bolts and screws to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten as needed to maintain stability and safety.
- Drawer Care: Keep the drawer tracks free of dust and debris to ensure smooth operation.
- Environmental Conditions: Avoid placing the daybed in direct sunlight or near heat sources to prevent wood warping or fading.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Daybed feels unstable or wobbly. | Loose hardware. Uneven floor surface. | Check and tighten all bolts and screws. Ensure the daybed is placed on a level surface. |
| Trundle or drawers are difficult to slide. | Debris in tracks. Overloaded drawers. Misalignment during assembly. | Clean tracks of any dust or obstructions. Reduce load in drawers. Recheck assembly steps for proper alignment of trundle and drawer mechanisms. |
| Squeaking noises. | Loose connections. Friction between wood components. | Tighten all hardware. Apply a small amount of furniture wax or silicone spray to contact points if necessary (avoiding areas that bear weight). |
