Setup

Charging the Device

The LCR-TC1 features a built-in lithium battery. To charge, connect the provided USB charging cable to the device's charging port and a 4.5V USB power source (e.g., a computer USB port or a compatible USB wall adapter). The indicator light will illuminate green when the battery is fully charged.

Caution: Ensure the charging input voltage does not exceed 4.5V to prevent damage to the tester.

Connecting Test Probes

Connect the included test hooks or probes to the designated test points on the ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) socket or directly to the three test pads (labeled 1, 2, 3) for component testing. Ensure secure and proper contact for accurate measurements.

Operating Instructions

Basic Component Testing

  1. Ensure the device is sufficiently charged and powered on.
  2. Carefully place the component to be tested into the ZIF socket or connect it using the test hooks to test points 1, 2, and 3. Verify good electrical contact.
  3. Press the "Start" button.
  4. The tester will automatically identify the component type (e.g., resistor, capacitor, diode, transistor) and display its measured parameters on the screen.
  5. For transistors, it will identify NPN/PNP or MOSFET type, determine the pinout (Emitter, Base, Collector or Source, Gate, Drain), and display relevant parameters such as HFE (DC current gain), Vf (forward voltage), and Cgs (gate-source capacitance).
  6. For resistors, it will display the resistance value.
  7. For capacitors, it will display capacitance, ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance), and Vloss (voltage loss).
  8. For diodes, it will display the forward voltage drop and junction capacitance.

IR Decoder Function

The LCR-TC1 includes an IR decoder function. To utilize this, point an infrared remote control towards the IR receiver window on the tester and press any button on the remote. The tester will then display the decoded IR code on its screen, which can be useful for verifying remote control functionality.
