- Residual Heat Indicator: An indicator light will signal if a cooking zone is still hot after use. Avoid touching the surface until the indicator turns off.
- Proper Cookware: Use only induction-compatible cookware. Incompatible pots will not heat up.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the cooktop during and after use.
- Electrical Connection: Ensure the cooktop is connected to a properly grounded 220V electrical outlet with appropriate circuit protection.

6. Compatible Cookware
Induction cooktops require specific types of cookware. The base of the pot or pan must be made of a ferromagnetic material (magnetic) to allow the induction field to generate heat. The base should also be flat for optimal contact and efficiency.
- Compatible Materials: Cast iron, enameled iron, and stainless steel with a magnetic base.
- Incompatible Materials: Aluminum, copper, glass, ceramic, and non-magnetic stainless steel.
- Cookware Base: The base of the cookware should be flat and cover a significant portion of the cooking zone for efficient heating.
- Magnet Test: To check if your cookware is compatible, place a magnet on its base. If the magnet sticks, the cookware is suitable for induction.

7. Cleaning and Maintenance
The ceramic glass surface of your cooktop is easy to clean, ensuring hygiene and maintaining its elegant appearance.
- Always ensure the cooktop is cool before cleaning.
- Use a soft cloth or sponge with mild detergent for daily cleaning.
- For stubborn stains, use a specialized ceramic cooktop cleaner and a non-abrasive scraper.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals that can scratch or damage the surface.
- Wipe dry with a clean cloth to prevent water spots.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your cooktop, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- Cooktop not turning on: Check if the appliance is properly plugged in and if there is power to the outlet. Ensure the safety lock is not activated.
- Cooking zone not heating: Verify that the cookware is induction-compatible and correctly positioned on the zone. The pan detection system will not activate if the pot is unsuitable or too small.
- Error codes on display: Consult the full product manual for specific error code meanings and solutions.
- Unusual noises: A slight humming or buzzing sound is normal during induction cooking, especially at higher power settings, due to the magnetic field.
If the problem persists, contact BLACK+DECKER customer support or a qualified technician.
