4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Placement

Place the pump on a solid, level surface as close to the pool as possible to minimize friction loss from plumbing. Ensure adequate ventilation and protection from direct sunlight and harsh weather conditions. The pump should be accessible for maintenance.

4.2 Plumbing Connections

The pump is equipped with 1.25" and 1.5" ID inlet and outlet ports. Use the appropriate adapters for your pool's plumbing. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent air leaks, which can affect priming and pump performance.

4.3 Priming the Pump

Before starting the pump for the first time, or after cleaning the filter basket, the pump must be primed. Fill the pump housing with water through the skimmer or by removing the filter basket lid and pouring water directly into the basket until the water level is above the pump's inlet. Replace the lid securely. The pump is self-priming, but initial manual priming assists in faster startup.

4.4 Electrical Connection

Connect the pump to a properly grounded 115V electrical outlet. Ensure the circuit is protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). Do not use extension cords. The pump includes an earthing terminal; connect a lightning ground wire if required by local regulations.
