5. Setup & Connection

5.1 Connecting to a Vehicle's OBD2 Port

  1. Locate the vehicle's OBD2 diagnostic port, typically found under the dashboard on the driver's side.
  2. Plug the CTB007 PRO's OBD2 connector into the vehicle's OBD2 port. Ensure a secure connection.

5.2 Connecting to an ECU on Bench

For bench testing, the CTB007 PRO can be connected to an ECU using the provided ECU breakout leads and an external power supply.

  1. Connect the ECU breakout leads to the appropriate pins on the ECU.
  2. Connect the other end of the breakout leads to the corresponding banana pin sockets on the CTB007 PRO.
  3. Provide external power (9-32V DC) to the CTB007 PRO via the DC 5.5*2.1mm jack.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Real-time Vrms Monitoring

Once connected, the LCD display on the CTB007 PRO will show the real-time true RMS voltage (Vrms) for each of the 16 OBD-II pins. This allows for quick identification of active pins and voltage levels.

  • Observe the digital readings for each pin.
  • If a pin detects a pulse/waveform signal, its background color will flash green, indicating dynamic activity.

6.2 CAN Termination Switches

6.3 Ground Signal Detection

The CTB007 PRO provides audible alarms for voltage conditions on PIN 16 (Power+).
