Introduction

The Pawfly CW4548 11.5W Aquarium Filter is designed to provide efficient mechanical and biological filtration for freshwater and saltwater aquariums ranging from 5 to 20 gallons. This hang-on-back filter features a multi-stage filtration system, adjustable water flow, and quiet operation to maintain a clean and healthy aquatic environment.

Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to properly set up your Pawfly Aquarium Filter. For a visual guide, please refer to the installation video below.

  1. Assemble Inlet Tubes: Connect the various sections of the inlet tube, ensuring the anti-suction inlet strainer is attached at the bottom.
  2. Assemble Outlet Tubes: Connect the sections of the outlet tube, including the elbow connector. Choose between the jet outlet or the spray bar and attach it to the end of the outlet tube.
  3. Prepare Filter Media: The filter comes with pre-installed bio sponges in a 3-layer filtration system. Ensure they are correctly seated within the filter trays.
  4. Secure Filter Head: Place the motor head onto the filter body. Press firmly on the clamps on the sides of the filter head until they snap securely into place.
  5. Install Hanging Brackets: Assemble the hanging brackets and slide them onto the designated slots on the back of the filter unit.
  6. Insert Shockproof Pad: Locate the small blue shockproof pad and insert it into the designated slot at the bottom of the filter body.
  7. Attach Tubes to Filter Head: Securely twist the assembled inlet and outlet tubes into their respective ports on the filter head.
  8. Hang Filter on Tank: Carefully hang the assembled filter unit on the back of your aquarium. Adjust the hanging brackets to fit snugly against the tank's rim.
  9. Prime the Filter: Remove the fill port cap located on the top of the filter head. Slowly pour clean aquarium water into the port until the filter body is completely filled. Replace the fill port cap securely.
  10. Power On: Plug the filter's power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. The filter should begin operating immediately.

Operating Instructions

Adjusting Water Flow

The Pawfly filter features two rotatable knobs on the filter head to adjust the inlet and outlet water flow. This allows you to customize the flow rate to suit the specific needs of your aquatic pets and tank size.

Swapping Jet and Spray Bars

The filter includes both a jet outlet and a spray bar. You can easily swap these components to change the water output pattern.
