2. Safety Information
Please read and understand all safety precautions before installing or operating this product. Failure to do so may result in damage to the product, other components, or personal injury.
- Ensure your computer system is powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet before installation.
- Handle components with care to avoid damage.
- Avoid touching the thermal paste on the cold plate. If contact occurs, wash hands thoroughly.
- Do not open the liquid cooler's pump or radiator, as this will void the warranty and may cause leaks.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Only use the included mounting hardware for installation.
3. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps carefully to install your MONTECH HyperFlow Digital 240 CPU Liquid Cooler.
3.1 Prepare the Radiator and Fans
- Attach the two 120mm E28 ARGB fans to the radiator using the provided fan screws. Ensure the fan airflow direction is appropriate for your case (typically blowing air through the radiator and out of the case, or into the case for intake).
- Mount the radiator with attached fans to your PC case in the desired location (e.g., top or front panel) using the longer radiator screws.

3.2 Install the Pump/Cold Plate
The cooler comes with pre-applied thermal paste on the cold plate. Do not remove or touch it unless you intend to replace it.

For Intel Sockets (LGA 1151/1200/1700/1851/20XX):
- Attach the correct Intel mounting brackets to the pump block.
- Place the Intel backplate behind your motherboard, aligning the holes.
- Secure the standoffs through the motherboard holes into the backplate.
- Carefully place the pump/cold plate onto the CPU, aligning the screw holes with the standoffs.
- Tighten the four thumb screws in a diagonal pattern until snug. Do not overtighten.
For AMD Sockets (AM3/AM4/AM5):
- Remove the stock AMD mounting clips from your motherboard, but keep the original backplate.
- Attach the correct AMD mounting brackets to the pump block.
- Secure the AMD standoffs into the motherboard's original backplate.
- Carefully place the pump/cold plate onto the CPU, aligning the screw holes with the standoffs.
- Tighten the four thumb screws in a diagonal pattern until snug. Do not overtighten.

3.3 Cable Connections
- Pump Power: Connect the pump's 3-pin connector to the CPU_FAN or AIO_PUMP header on your motherboard.
- Fan Power: Connect the two E28 ARGB fans to the included PWM fan splitter cable, then connect the splitter to a CPU_FAN or SYS_FAN header on your motherboard.
- ARGB Lighting: Connect the ARGB cables from the fans and pump to the included ARGB cable, then connect this to a 5V 3-pin ARGB header on your motherboard. Do not connect to a 12V 4-pin RGB header, as this will damage the LEDs.
- Digital Display: Connect the USB 2.0 header cable from the pump to an available USB 2.0 header on your motherboard. This enables the digital display functionality and software control.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Digital Temperature Display
The pump features a built-in digital display that shows real-time CPU or GPU temperatures. This display provides immediate feedback on your system's thermal status.

4.2 Software Control
To switch between CPU and GPU temperature display, or to change between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) units, you will need to install the MONTECH HyperFlow Digital software. This software also allows for customization of the display and potentially fan/pump speeds, depending on the version.
- Download the latest HyperFlow Digital software from the official Montech website.
- Install the software by following the on-screen instructions.
- Launch the software to access display settings and other customizable options.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your liquid cooler.
- Dust Cleaning: Periodically clean the radiator fins and fan blades using compressed air or a soft brush. Dust buildup can restrict airflow and reduce cooling efficiency.
- Tubing Inspection: Occasionally check the tubing for any signs of kinks, damage, or leaks.
- Fan Operation: Listen for any unusual noises from the fans. If a fan becomes excessively noisy or stops spinning, it may need replacement.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your HyperFlow Digital 240, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- No Power/Fans Not Spinning/No ARGB Lighting:
- Check all power and ARGB connections to the motherboard. Ensure they are securely seated.
- Verify that the motherboard headers are enabled in the BIOS/UEFI.
- Ensure the 5V 3-pin ARGB connector is not plugged into a 12V 4-pin RGB header.
- Digital Display Not Working/Showing Incorrect Temperature:
- Ensure the USB 2.0 header cable is correctly connected to both the pump and the motherboard.
- Install the latest HyperFlow Digital software from the Montech website.
- Restart your computer after installing the software.
- Check for any software conflicts with other monitoring utilities.
- High CPU/GPU Temperatures:
- Verify that the pump is running (you may feel a slight vibration or hear a faint hum).
- Ensure the fans are spinning and oriented correctly for optimal airflow.
- Check if the cold plate is making full contact with the CPU. Re-seat the pump if necessary, ensuring even pressure.
- Inspect the radiator for dust buildup and clean if necessary.
- Confirm that the thermal paste on the cold plate is intact and evenly spread.
- Excessive Noise:
- Identify if the noise is coming from the fans or the pump.
- If from fans, check for obstructions or loose fan screws. Adjust fan speeds via motherboard BIOS or software.
- If from the pump, ensure it is mounted securely and that air bubbles are not trapped. Gently tilt the PC case to help dislodge air bubbles.
