3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

The Retevis RT628 and H-777 radios require 3 x AA batteries (not included in the package). Follow these steps to install them:

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio.
  2. Slide or unclip the cover to open the compartment.
  3. Insert 3 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover until it clicks securely into place.

The VOX function allows for hands-free communication. When activated, the radio will automatically transmit when it detects your voice, without needing to press the PTT button.
